It's the smugness of people like McCarthy that lead to Matt freaking Gaetz becoming Attorney General.

I also find it funny that Trump is selecting people that he knows the left will hate.

They were gonna hate everything he said or did anyway…might as well go balls to the wall, and get your money’s worth…🤣🤣

I like most of the cabinet picks so far, but am not a fan of this one, just because of the underage issue and reputation.

However, I am sure that he will still be better than the socialist professors and underqualified DEI checkbox hires that we would have seen under Harris

I'm old enough to remember when the GOP claimed to oppose people accused of human trafficking and having sex with minors. Getting his exit ticket punched just before the House Ethics Committee finished its investigation into him was quite the fortuitous timing for Mr. Gaetz!

On the flip side, at least Gaetz is intimately familiar with the justice system. Just from the other side of the law from previous AGs...

Are you talking about human trafficking human trafficking or human trafficking as in moving illegal immigrants from under bridges in Texas to America’s greatest cities? Never know with you.

Human trafficking is bad. Whether it's a future AG trafficking women for sex, or governors trafficking people for political points. Feels like that should not be controversial but it's hard to know with you.

Why couldn’t they just stay under bridges?

Is there a governor that was involved in human trafficking? Or was your claim of such just more overwrought dramatics?

That last one is a rhetorical question.

A child rapist?

Oh, how low can this administration go?

This is just shameful. This administartion is a joke

I'm confused Tibsy.

I mean, you and your lot were only too happy to let hundreds of rapists across the border to carry out their dirty work - and now you're here complaining about one?

Make it make sense.

The Matt Gaetz "child trafficking" story.....same old BS tactics.

Anonymous source leaks to propaganda press. Never charged much less convicted. Guilty in court of public opinion by morons like the King and Tibs.

Gaetz will relish it when any dems try to bring this up during confirmation.

A group of New York Times reporters who won awards for their roles pushing the Russia collusion lie penned an anonymously sourced article with a devastating headline: “Matt Gaetz Is Said to Face Justice Dept. Inquiry Over Sex With an Underage Girl.” The story was sourced to “three people briefed on the matter,” none of them identified in any way. The story contained no evidence against Gaetz of sex crimes, but much guilt-by-association. Late in the story, the pack of reporters admitted that no charges had been filed and that the “extent of his criminal exposure is unclear.”

On Friday, 18 months after he was accused of being a pedophile and child sex trafficker, the Washington Post published another anonymously sourced report. “Career prosecutors recommend no charges for Matt Gaetz,” said the article, published quietly on a Friday. Not only was he never convicted of any of the crimes he was alleged to have committed, he wasn’t even charged. And, if you believe the anonymously sourced claims, he isn’t going to be.

The damage was already done by the initial report, written by reporters who regularly regurgitate political leaks from Department of Justice and FBI sources.
