reddogblitz Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 I have an idea on how President Trump could save us citizens a lot of money. Instead of flying Air Force One to Florida every weekend, just cool his jets (pun intended) at The White House. Everything he could possibly need is there. He could practice his golf game on the fancy golf simulator he put in last time. He could bowl a few lines at the on site bowling alley. He could jog on Bill Clinton's jogging track. It costs $200,000 per hour to operate. So at 8 hours flying time per trip times 52 times a year for 4 years comes to round$350,000,000.00. That's just to operate the jet. Throw in secret service hours, runway fees, food, etc and we're probably talking over $1,000,000,000.00. That be a nice chunk of change to cut. See if Elon and Vivek recommend this. https://www.twz.com/45066/here-is-what-the-vc-25a-air-force-one-jets-now-cost-per-hour-to-fly 1

Next thing you know Melania is on the hot line from Mara Lago trying to watch Lincoln Lawyer, Zelensky on line 2 and sh8t can go south fast. 1 1

Does it bother anyone else that the Presidents of America abuse Air Force One regularly? The tax payer s are funding weekly trips to Florida. And its not just President Trump. President Biden went back and forth to Delaware regular well. And Jill Biden flew it from Europe to the US and back to attend Hunter Biden's trial. The taxpayers provide it for official business, not as a personal taxi based on his/her whim. If the President needs a little time off to relax etc, that's what Camp David is for and its only 65 miles away. To the Bidens credit, they weren't elected as budget cutters. Trump says he is. So put a little skin in the game and stay put in DC and save us tax payers a billion or 2 or or 3 or its the government so probably easily 10 times that. Edited November 16, 2024 by reddogblitz

BUT, still uses the jet that much, are you still going to see it as a problem?

To answer your question, no, it’s not something that bothers me. I tend to stay away from criticism of presidents golfing, on vacation, etc. I do criticize hypocrisy on issues for climate change warriors and massive carbon footprints, and I can understand your perspective here as it relates to AF1 and govt inefficiency. A reasonable compromise between “A president can never travel for personal reasons” and “Abuse of system” is probably fair. 1

B-Man Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Pentagon Fails Seventh Straight Financial Audit: Billions of Taxpayer Money Unaccounted For in Latest Government Scandal by Jim Hᴏft The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has failed its seventh consecutive financial audit. Despite commanding an $824 billion 2024 budget — funded entirely by hardworking American taxpayers — the Pentagon remains unable to account for vast sums of money. The Pentagon began its first-ever agency-wide financial audit in 2017. This marked the beginning of a process that had been sought, promised, and delayed for years.Since undertaking this initial audit, the Pentagon has consistently failed to pass its subsequent audits, the first of which failed in 2018. Out of the 28 entities audited this year, only 9 received clean opinions https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/11/pentagon-fails-seventh-straight-financial-audit-billions-defense/ 1

Let’s get rid of all the money laundering of taxpayer dollars that’s gone on for years. You know, this or that company gets 900k to study the effects of COVID on Russian women. Or 1.2 million to study bee stings etc etc. Eliminate DEI departments etc etc. That’s the kind of wasteful bloated crap that needs to be eliminated.

Privatizing or something to that effect to the national parks would be a no. Securing the border would be great. Some modicum of peace in the middle east too would be great. But we're talking 2 mil for both programs. That's 4 or 5 hours operating Air Force One. Stopping every weekend trips to Florida would save a few billion. It's low hanging fruit. If we're serious about cutting waste, A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon, you're talking real money. I think your compromise would be fair.
B-Man Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 DOGE Shares Obscene Examples of Government Waste: Nearly $1 Million to See if Cocaine Makes Japanese Quail More Sexually Promiscuous by Hannah Knudsen The soon-to-be-formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by X owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, shared some examples of obscene government waste on Monday so Americans can have some clear examples of what needs to be cut. DOGE shared a clip of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), widely known for his annual Festivus government waste report, walking through some of the most shocking ways the U.S. government has wasted taxpayer dollars. One of the studies highlighted by both Paul and DOGE in involves seeing what makes a sunfish more aggressive: Gin or tequila. About $100,000 went toward that project. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/11/18/doge-shares-obscene-examples-of-government-waste-nearly-1-million-to-see-if-cocaine-makes-japanese-quail-more-sexually-promiscuous/
