My brother (known dipshit) works at the Tesla plant in South Buffalo in a line supervisor position and he’s dying laughing at these Musk emails to gov employees.

He complains how that place is just a half-empty Panasonic factory at this point. If Musk still cant fill a factory after being gifted $780M from NY state for his SB factory, then are we sure this is the right guy?

No issues with the size of govt being cut, but there was no better business person that Don could assign this to? Its a really good effort and makes a ton of sense but its getting lots of stink from Musk and his weird persona

We couldnt get someone from Microsoft, Nvidia, Toyota, Apple, etc to head up this initiative?

again, a great idea in theory, but Musk is the wrong guy to be doing this.

Total bs.

If there's one thing any lazy-ass worker - federal government, state government, private company, whatever - does, it's check email, if only to make sure your boss isn't looking for you and trying to make a record of your absence.

Good. So they should have nothing to worry about. Right?

Who is going to read 3 million emails? It’s a pathetic, impractical idea because Elon has no clue what he’s doing.

“Nearly 40% of the federal contracts that President Donald Trump’s administration claims to have canceled as part of its signature cost-cutting program aren’t expected to save the government any money, the administration’s own data shows.”

Beautiful stuff, Elon!

The fact that you'd even ask this question shows you don't understand what Musk is doing.

Just follow along on the teevee and we'll let you know how it turns out.

Musk is playing dolls with the federal government. Trump already told the employees not to answer the email.

Xi and Putin are probably in tears laughing at Elon’s incompetence!

If anyone isn't outraged by the waste, fraud, and abuse of government spending that's pissing away tax dollars and borrowed money that's been uncovered to date, with more to follow, then they must be in on the take. The corruption is systemic. As a taxpayer you should be angry and want your frickin money back.

Prove that it’s fraud. “Stuff I don’t like” is not fraud.

DOGE has not found anything that can be considered “fraud.”

Libertarianism in 2025 is just sad. It’s time to let that dream go.

Trump is good at explaining the "5 bullet points" email.

I've been critical of what looked too harsh and unnecessarily scary, but Trump made it sound better to me in that clip (which is part of a press conference yesterday with Macron).

As Trump put it: "A lot of people are not answering because they don't even exist." The email is at test that at least separates everyone into 2 groups, those who answered and those who did not answer. Among those who did not answer is some number of employees who are simply not there at all. "That's how badly" the government is run, Trump asserts.

Some who don't answer could still exist, but at least the nonexistent workers would be concentrated among the nonanswerers. (An answer could come "from" a nonexistent worker could answer by fraud.)
