It is completely irrelevant if they are, say, 19 years old and were fired from an internship - an INTERNSHIP, which you basically can't be fired from because, you know, it's an unpaid internship - for disclosing internal company information. It is also irrelevant that you wanted to normalize Indian hate. Or that you don't have a clearance, because, well, you have demonstrated that you are utterly unqualified to get a clearance, and that you nonetheless access classified information. In other words, I recognized that the so-called Deep State is not without it's problems, as it creates an inertia resistant to change, even when change is needed. But it also suggested that - in my more traditional Chestertonian conservative viewpoint - that a man does not tear down a fence until he understands why it was put there, that radical change is often not a good thing. I suggest you read it. It may provide you and your ilk some needed, umm, maturity.

Other countries did things I never thought they'd be willing to do, including Sweden's accession.

In a report titled "Expired and Expiring Authorizations of Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2024," the CBO observes: "Historically, House and Senate rules restrict lawmakers from considering an appropriation if it lacks a current authorization." Nevertheless, "CBO estimates that $516 billion was appropriated for 2024 for activities with expired authorizations, which the agency identified for each House and Senate authorizing committee and appropriations subcommittee." That $516 billion in illegal payments cover "1,264 authorizations of appropriations that expired before the beginning of fiscal year 2024 and 251 authorizations of appropriations that were set to expire by the end of fiscal year 2024." The legal authority for some of these payments expired 40 — that's not a typo — years ago. {snip} Making this all the more intriguing is that it would seem that the President could stop those payments without worrying about violating the Impoundment Control Act as they are not legal appropriations by Congress's rules.
