Attack of the Mack....Hollins

Hollins has played well and has produced.  He's not an all-pro, but he was neither signed to be one nor was he expected to be one.  He's met/exceeded expectations as a 4th WR who has climbed up a bit due to injuries.  He's never going to light up the stat sheet, but he's made some key grabs, including 3 TDs.  He's also a willing and solid blocker in the run game and is a good teammate.  What else does anyone want/expect from the guy?

On a related note (discussing down-the-roster WRs), MVS had a great stat line for the Saints last week:  image.png.c3812509027aa60b0b75382bd675d70c.png

He was terrible with the Bills and I'm fine with them having moved on, but he did have a good day on Sunday.

I saw that  MVS was stellar! They even mentioned during the game "why couldn't Brady get this out of him"? I was kinda pissed at that comment on TV

Yeah, I know virtually nobody was excited to sign this guy.

I just thought this stat of his was neat: he has 16 receptions on the year. Three of those went for touchdowns. The other 13? All first downs. That's neat.

I was excited 😎

No. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that when Mack is more involved, Josh has pretty bad stat lines.

Mack’s great game and Josh’s 66 passer rating seem inherently linked imo. Just like when Mack got a team leading 6 targets vs Houston and Josh completed 9 passes. Or when Mack was second on the team in targets vs Baltimore and Josh had a 73.9 passer rating and we lost by 25.

I want Mack to be Hines Ward. I don’t think he is.

Mack had something to do with Josh’s 2 interceptions?  He threw Mack 4 passes this week. He caught all 4 for 80+ yards.  Situationally, the catches were very important.  Similar to last week vs Miami.

You’re really blaming Mack for Josh’s bad performances.  Like when Josh overthrew Mack…..because Mack wasn’t fast enough…. but stand on that hill bro!  Dying, while Mack continues to make big plays and helps us win games in a multitude of ways.

I owe Mack a small apology. I thought he was just going to be another Trent Sherfield, and we were going to be in serious trouble if he got any real playing time, but he's been much better than that when called upon.

He stunk because the only way MVS is effective is with a stellar deep ball QB, and Allen just isn't one.  Allen is amazing in a lot of ways, but a tight contact deep shot is not a STRENGTH of his.

Hollins was part of the best offensive play in the last game, the long pass just before have time to Mack and he was smart enough to quickly get up and off the field to save time.  I also like how he has been running to the ball or even placing it (he got away with it once) "for the ref" the save time.

Guy is a smart, heads up player.

This! I was just about to post the same sentiment. That was an incredibly alert and smart play. Gabe would’ve fought for an additional yard and the ball punched out for a fumble.

Some would dream that but that is not a fact.
