By 2030, all quarterbacks drafted will likely have thrown passes for 2-3 different colleges.

I actually like college football more than the NFL and this makes me sad

Jayden Daniels, with a lesser cast of weapons, is killing it in Washington. Kliff bombed in AZ and there was question marks whether he could facilitate the growth of Daniels. He’s played his part but credit has to go to the QB himself just as much. 

 

 

I actually loved Dan Campbell's hire of Kingsbury.  While Kliff may not be head coach material yet, he is a very good offensive mind.

 

It's just a nice mesh of coaching and talent, which Washington had before with Kyle Shanahan/Sean McVay and RGIII/Kirk Cousins.

Yeah the issue is Caleb. I don't know if its in his head or if he isnt putting in the work, but he is missing passes and not playing within the system. He constantly looks like hes trying to make a big play and not working on the little things. His last game had several missed lay up type plays. It just kills the offense when you have 3rd and 10 instead of 3rd and 3

Everyone always wants to praise or blame the coaching staff. Personally I think great QBs will become great no matter where they're drafted, and the same in reverse for bad QBs. Darnold was supposedly "ruined" by the Jets but now he is turning back into the player that he always has been even in an elite offensive system with elite talent. Allen didn't become great because Daboll screamed at him on the sidelines, he himself put in the work and methodically eliminated all of his major flaws. That's what Caleb Williams has to do.

 

The concern is that Williams is looking as bad or worse now than he did to start the season. You would have hoped to see some progress at this point, but it's still very early. The Bears did the "make the fans happy" move and fired the OC. Maybe that will help some, but it isn't going to transform Williams into a player worthy of the #1 selection. He has to do that on his own.

 

Instead of blaming coaches for ruining QBs, blame the scouts & GMs who over-drafted them.  It's amazing how many people think numerous bad QBs were ruined when they never had NFL talent to begin with.  A lot of QBs just can't play at the next level, but GMs & scouts miss what becomes obvious once the guy goes up against grown men in the NFL.  Then when the coach sees how bad they are in practice & games and bench them so they won't lose the locker room, the fans and media cry that the QB is being ruined, when in reality, he is a bust. The 1st ones to notice that are the coaches who see them about 5 days a week during the season.  Then there are the QB busts with overinflated opinions of themselves who get drafted way too high.  Best examples are lazy bums/head cases like Leaf, Russell, Manziel, and Rosen.  They never made a true effort to improve their games.  Then there are the undersized guys like Young & C.Williams who get drafted #1 and are quickly surpassed by the normal sized QBs taken after them. 

 

PS: Good examples of bad scouting & GMs: The Bills drafting JP Losman & EJ Manuel.  Both got benched early in their careers by coaches who had seen enough to say No Mas.

Exactly! That Pats game, wow. Shows it all like you said. He’s waiting for the big play more often than not and when he isn’t it seems the throws he has the ability to easily make just aren’t there. These aren’t the ones either where there’s anticipation on the throw. He is rarely even attempting them. 
 

You hit the nail on the head, so many moments that kill the offense and that more often than not is squarely on Caleb, sadly for him and bears fans.

Same.  It made no sense to retain him after last season.  Ryan Poles never drafted Justin Fields and he never hired Matt Eberflus.  They should have moved on from both at the same time.
