True story.......before i bought my Dodge Ram, i used to have a Ford F150. I had that thing forever, never put one dime into it and basically just wanted to run it into the ground so i could go out a buy the Dodge, but the F150 had other ideas, man.

The truck wouldn't die.

It was like a living breathing beast that just wouldn't quit. I was thinking about getting a priest to give it an exorcism........"the power of Christ compels you" sort of Exorcist thing going on.

When the tranny finally gave out, the truck had 650,000 kms on it.

For a Ford, best vehicle i've ever owned.

Mrs Lew and I have had  4 Avalons over the years.

We have gifted  or sold them to SIL.

Current one is the 2022, the last model year for Avalon.  It does not have a navigation system.

Plug in the phone and use Google maps, which will be displayed on the screen.

Great  vehicles.  And since retirement our driving mileage has plummeted to zero.

Diesel or petrol?

400,000 miles is impressive for a gas vehicle.

My mother inlaw's 2018 Honda HR-V had 9,000 miles on it. She didn't use it anymore and moved. They gave her $18,000 cash at the dealer in September. Carvana was quoting close to $19k... But didn't want the hassle.

Did it include the video game seizure warning?

First time I took it thru the carwash I couldn't get it out of neutral for a few seconds at the end, but not quick enough.

Delta Sonic launched Code Red, and the swarm attack.

It was gas.........the 5.6 Triton engine, 8 cylinder, 5 speed, so it was terrible on gas, but i have always preferred the bigger engines on the highway.

Even Ford couldn't believe i got that thing to 650,000 kms.......80% of that mileage was highway driving cause i was working all over North America. That truck probably saw more of Canada and the states than most people.

My wife and I favor Nissan's. I have a 2018 Murano, and it is by far the best car I have ever owned. My wife has a 2014 Versa Note. It was perfect for her to drive back and forth to work and the Farmers Markets in the area. Her car though had the crappy mid 2010's Nissan transmission. We will be replacing it once I get a job, which looks good at the moment.

Best car I ever owned was a 2007 Acura TSX. I had two of them. It was a made in Japan Honda with flawless workmanship, had all the suspension and performance upgrades that came standard with Acura, and that amazing Honda port injected K24 motor, kicking out over 200hp. Rock solid, great looks, easy to work on and a pleasure to operate.

My car is ancient, low mileage, and will never die.  I barely drive since moving to Houston.  I arrived here with 22,000 miles on my 2012 Corolla and almost a decade later I'm still not at 50,000 miles.  With car prices what they are and the fact that I barely need to drive (we take my wife's car whenever we are headed anywhere together) I cannot justify replacing it anytime soon unless it quits on me, which it won't because its a Toyota. I think I drive the crappiest car of any of my colleagues which is interesting when the kids I work with are buying Mercedes and BMWs and I make more than double what many of them will earn in a year.

I did drive a Tesla model 3 as a rental when I was back in Buffalo for the home opener.  That was a fun ride. My wife wants a new car so badly that I am concerned hers is going to be met with a suspicious accident.

When my son was in high school he asked my wife why we don’t drive fancy cars like the other parents. We had the talk about appreciating assets and depreciating assets. He’s in investment banking now, and drives a Toyota 4Runner.

It was so bad at his high school, parents would have BMWs with giant bows on them in the car line when their kids turned 16. What a way to set them up for failure. Life isn’t always going to be that easy.

My son went through the same thing......watching kids from richer families buy their kids brand new 5L Mustangs just for passing classes. It was ridiculous.

I gave my son some of my older motorcycles (which just sat in our garage) and after a couple of years, he said he didn't want them and that i could have them back. I told him that they were his and if he sold them, the money was his.

I gave him one of my old trucks, but he didn't want it, so when i sold it, i gave the money to him instead.

He saved up the money from the truck and saved up a bunch of his own money and got a yearly bus pass and he invested the rest.

Smart, smart kid......and it didn't come from buying him a 5L Mustang either.

2018 Ford Escape AWD... I bought it in 2019 and just passed 40k miles ... Has a decent stereo with a CD player, Panoramic roof. It's a comfortable ride, good in the snow and has never left me stranded. Besides oil changes etc ... the only money I've put into it is Tires and Brakes.

I love my Avalon. It’s a nice smooth ride and drive.

I got mine because my wife had just shopped for one for her mother. As much as I hate going to the dentist, she looks forward to it. (Her father was a dentist.) The same can be said for car buying! After my wife bought one for her mom, she wanted to do the battle with her data against another foe. 😂

Vehicles are funny, because they are on full display.  Too bad we couldn't drive around in our houses, you'd see how opulent people really are.

I’m bragging that the kid learned a lesson. He’s coming to understand money. He’s also a AMAZING dad to two kids with the oldest just having her 2nd BDay.  Sue me.
