I think it’s fair to question if Kincaid is worthy of more targets.  I want to say he is, but I have to lean on what I saw last year, not this year.  The thing that stands out to me, with his production down, Diggs gone, and Shakir not coming close to Diggs production.. where is the offense going to come from in the passing game?  It has to be Keon and Coop, I just don’t think Brady has a scheme to get the WRs open outside.

I think Brady has a scheme for getting WRs open outside.  What he has not had is the players

* MVS was under whelming for whatever reason.  May be he was not focused in Buffalo

* Keon is a rookie and learning the ropes and now he is injured for many weeks.

* Cooper has been here for a few weeks and has already been out injured.

You cannot build an offense with the above situation

Shakir has been better and more explosive than diggs for two years now. He's on pace for like 85-90 catches and probably a thousand yds...

I've said since before he was drafted he is a modern day clone of Andre Reed.

Great yac ability

Great ability to deal with contact and physicality

Excellent hands

Dynamic acceleration after the catch

Lives over the middle and understands zones.

Natural wr instincts

Not sure I agree with this.

Shakir, while being incredible as a slot threat, has seen his YPC drop a full 4 yards. He was 15.7 YPC last year. Now he’s 11 YPC.

Diggs was at 11.1 last year and anywhere from that to 13 in his tenure here.

Part of that of that is usage, Shakir makes his living from the slot but that’s why slots are less valuable. And Shakir to me is a borderline elite slot now.

The question is who is better for an offense. A top 15 outside WR or a top 3 slot WR. That’s philosophical and hard to answer imo.

I love Shakir, but Diggs was an easy 100 catch 1100 yard guy here, no offense to Shakir, he’s not that, yet at least.

KC's top receiving threat is their tight end, who is a first ballot [possibly unanimous] Hall of Famer. Their wideouts are Hopkins [veteran, fair amount of mileage on him], Worthy [Rookie, fast, currently ranked 95th of 126 wideouts], and Watson, [journeyman. currently ranked 113th of 126].  If Cooper is able to play, Shakir is still likely the best WR on either side.  Losing Kincaid hurts us the most right now.

Kelce has BEEN their top receiving threat the last 2 years and their offense has been considerably less than great.

I think great receiving TE’s and slot WR’s kinda fill the same role. There is a reason they drafted a WR in the first round with a trade up and also signed Hollywood Brown. It was all to take focus off Kelce/Rice.

Like I said, it’s philosophical. Any time spent on the Bills defense worrying about Hopkins opens up space for Kelce. Vice versa, any time spent worrying about Cooper opens up space for Shakir.

It’s not easy to take away both outside threats and inside threats. It’s why KC was so deadly with Hill and Kelce. Teams were so afraid of 60 yard TD’s with Hill that Kelce had real room to operate.

When Shakir is playing, I don’t think the loss of Kincaid is felt all that much as long as Cooper is still out there. Cooper is not 100% healthy which changes things. But if we are playing KC in the playoffs, and the choice is between Coleman/Cooper/Kincaid and one of them can’t play, I pick to miss Kincaid and it’s not even close tbh.

As important as the KC game is with the bye week coming up getting as healthy as possible is key. If Kincaid/Coleman are banged up better to give them a week off which will effectively give them 3 weeks off to get healthy for the stretch run.

The problem with this comp is that Allen doesn’t throw rainbows like Aaron Rodgers, Hurts, and Russell Wilson that allow receivers to track. His arm is frankly too strong for that and his deeper throws are therefore lower trajectory. It’s an apples and oranges thing.  It’s also crazy to blame Kincaid for that play. Allen gave him no chance on that one.

I was watching Allen throw some beautiful arching passes tonight (yes, tonight - was traveling, watched DVR'd game tonight)
