EmotionallyUnstable Posted November 12 Posted November 12 (edited) The timing feels funny on this, as he just had probably his worst game so far this year. I almost threw a shout out his way last week, but never got around to it. That said, for a last minute trade at the end of preseason for a late day three pick, I’ve felt like this was a solid move by Beane. He is currently 9th in the league in punt return average. He brings some juice and generally seems reliable catching the ball. He’s only returned 6 kickoffs, and took one 53 yards. I no longer feel like I am holding my breath with every punt return, and actually look forward to seeing what ground he can gain when given a chance. Keep up the good work, young man! *This site shows him as 7th in return average: https://www.footballdb.com/statistics/nfl/player-stats/punt-returns?sort=pravg Edited November 12 by EmotionallyUnstable 7 3 Quote
Sojourner Posted November 12 Posted November 12 There’s no one happier with Brandon Codrington than Brandon Codrington himself. The guy was going to be a Jet. Yikes! 10 12 2 1 Quote

fasteddie Posted November 12 Posted November 12 But...he gave up the Colts final TD yesterday. He's a lot better returner than db. 1 1 Quote

The real test starts now when the wind starts picking up, temps drop, and precipitation increases. The fumble yesterday was an annoyance. Fortunately we recovered. 2 1 Quote

Einstein Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Not sure I could disagree more. I don’t care what his average return is - he makes bad decisions, often. Lets punts go he shouldn’t, fields one should have let go, takes the ball out of the endzone when he shouldn’t, etc. I trust him zero. 3 Quote

Opening kickoff should've knelt and he got very lucky on the fumble. For the most part he's been decent this season. 1 1 Quote

I feel like that's the opposite of the guy he replaced (Harty), who flashed better as a DB than returner. All things being equal I'd probably err on the side of DB depth but I get that return gaffes can cost games. Been pleasantly surprised with Coddington's return game as well. Not a flat out burner but generally solid hands and shifty with some tackle breaking ability too. Quote
mannc Posted November 12 Posted November 12 I still don’t understand why the Jests traded him to us…makes no sense. Quote
