Did I read this right?😱

"down from the 90.2 he had last year with the Bills when he finished with the highest grade of any linebacker in the NFL"

And yet the Bills let him go.

I think Beane figured out what he could afford to pay reserve Linebackers after he paid Matakevich $12MM over 4 yrs.

And they can hopefully re-sign for basically nothing after he clears waivers, he looks great again at some point, signs again somewhere else and we get another comp pick for him.

It could be as simple as the Seahawks benched him for a younger LB since he’s a FA. They did draft Tyrone Knoght so maybe they want to get him on the field more and Dodson said well then let me go somewhere else. If that’s the case tho the Bills won’t be in the picture

PFF grades are dumb. They openly admit they use factors that aren't related to what happened on the field.

Such as money paid and info from agents.

He had a cap hit of $4.26M with Seattle, I'm not sure how much a team would owe to claim him but I think he will probably pass through waivers even if only half of that is passed on. If he passes through waivers this is an obvious move and we can just leave Spector on IR all year for all I care.

If his cap hit is that big, I don’t think any team will claim him on waivers. Which bodes well For us. I can see us signing him post waivers to vet minimum.

Maybe they were going to demote him and he had attitude about it or something. He seemed to have a temper issue.

I'm all for it, but with his previous domestic track record, is he a guy that McD wants on his roster?

That's sarcasm, Right?

No-  he chose to go.  An opportunity to start and make 4.26M (and possibly more if he played well) vs being a backup and making less.  Wasn’t a very difficult decision I’m sure

I would 100% be on board with bringing him back. There’s a need for depth at his position and he played pretty well with us last year. Lol pretty soon we will need to bring Cole Beasley and John Brown back too 😂

Morrow is a complete waste right now.  Dodson would give us much better depth at Will or Mike.

Please NO to Dodson!!

They could have a rematch date with Baltimore in the future, Dodson back in the fold goes a long way towards tightening up the run defense.

Yeah, and exposing the pass defense. NO to Dodson

Hey we've brought back Phillips, Jefferson and Marlowe (last year).  Why not, unless there is an off the field issue not yet announced.

Yeah, and if Miami finally gives up on Poyer -- nah.  Really nah.

Did we get a comp pick for losing him in FA in 2024 ?

May be signing him for rest of the season will allow us to get another comp pick in 2025?

Dodson wasn't as good as Bernard or other LBs, so he wasn't going to play unless injuries.  But he's substantially better than other alternatives at LB.  Isn't the nature of a substitute the fact that the guy isn't as good as the starter?  Why should we reject a very good substitute because he's not as good as the starters?  We would be signing him so we don't have to get AJ Klein off his couch for a playoff game against Mahomes -- that's why.

That is a good point actually. Currently he is cancellong the Samuel signing in the comp formula. I think week 11 is the cutoff for that so it could affect us comp pick wise.
