He had a cap hit of $4.26M with Seattle, I'm not sure how much a team would owe to claim him but I think he will probably pass through waivers even if only half of that is passed on. If he passes through waivers this is an obvious move and we can just leave Spector on IR all year for all I care.

I just read that his contract is about as straightforward as it gets. He received a 1 million guarantee on the 4.26. So 3.26 for the season. Roughly a little less than half so the new team would be on the hook for about 1.5 would be my guess

😳.  Thank you for sharing.  Maybe too much info ?!   lol ,,,,,please don’t share how you react should the Bills ever win a superbowl !  lol. Practice those boundaries!  Not every feeling / reaction needs to be documented!   lol.  😂   Maybe your avatar name should have been a little insight into your personal boundaries !!  Again,,,maybe too much info?

Something seems off here.   He’s been ok and is relatively cheap even as a backup, unless it’s a locker room issue or he’s got off field crap going, this is odd.  I would GUESS he clears waivers, he’s not a major difference maker, but he’d be welcome back here with all the injuries.

Reading the seahawks forums.. they don't have any more info, but seem to think it's play related despite being surprised they'd just cut him. They feel like he was problems against the run and getting taken out of position too easily.

I remember before our game there were quite a few on here pumping Dodson and how he was playing so well for the hawks.

Trying to parse through what might have been behind the release.

Dodsen does have a six-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy on his resume, but that was from five years ago.

As others have said, it's strange to outright cut a starter mid-season unless there's something non play related we don't know about. Demoting/benching him is one thing, but outright cutting him and incurring a $1million cap hit is quite another.

Strange.

Nope - if he is cut and clears waivers there is no contract.

If a team claimed him they would be on the hook for the money, but I highly doubt he gets claimed for that reason.

It is too much for a back-up player at LB At this time of year for most contenders and no reason for a non-contender to bother with his age.

I would expect once he clears the Bills talk to him after the Chiefs game and he gets signed for the minimum as needed.

I know when we played Seattle Dodson was getting worked.  Several big plays were him not being in his lane.  Maybe he just didn't get Seattle's scheme.  It took him some time here maybe he just didn't get it there.  Either way if he can come back and play here like he did before he left he'd be a nice addition.
