Given Spector's going to IR, I would think this would be a logical fill-in -- assuming, of course, there is not something more to his release than has been reported.

They made a trade for a new MLB and my guess is he wasn’t happy.

You don't see teams randomly cutting starters halfway through the season... very odd. 

 

Makes a ton of sense to bring him in if he clears waivers.

He had a cap hit of $4.26M with Seattle, I'm not sure how much a team would owe to claim him but I think he will probably pass through waivers even if only half of that is passed on. If he passes through waivers this is an obvious move and we can just leave Spector on IR all year for all I care.
