Bermuda Triangle Posted November 11 Posted November 11 The Bills have not had an offensive holding call in their favor (i.e. called against the opponent’s offense) in the past 2 games. Will the stripes flag KC for holding next week (or Jawaan Taylor, for his repeated false starts)? 2 1 Quote
Boatdrinks Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Definitely concerned about which crew gets assigned to this game. It will have an impact. 4 Quote
Captain_Quint Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Our two tackles do the same thing that Taylor does except they get called for it at least once or twice a game. He does seem to do it worse than anyone else in the league though. Refs will play a part in this game, for sure. If the CBs of KC can get handsy with our terrible WRs, it's not going to go well for our passing game and will allow them to stack the box. 4 Quote
HolySchmidt Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Dean Blandino already explained that Jawaan Taylor doest’t actually false start. He time travels. Most likely because Andy Reid and Patrick MaRefs are the greatest football minds ever. 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 11 Posted November 11 To be fair only Rousseau is a capable pass rusher. The opponents have no need to hold. Many holding calls like yesterday against Torrence occur when the QB is flushed from the pocket. We aren't good enough rushing the passer to flush them from the pocket very often. That said there have been several blatant holds not called this year including against my punching bag AJE yesterday. Quote
The 9 Isles Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Our Oline should go out there wearing red gloves, make them work to see anything. 2 1 Quote

Which crews are good these days? Honest question. I’m trying to think of a referee crew I can tolerate in the modern NFL and drawing a blank. 😅 Quote
MikePJ76 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 A big part of that is always rushing four. When you play this style of defense you are not going to get a ton of holding calls when your ends are just average players. The broncos played downhill and came after mahomes all day yesterday and it worked. This weeks game will be totally different. Mahomes will have all day to throw and buffalo is going to have to be near perfect on third downs. 1 1 1 Quote

That’s weird then that it’s apparently unnecessary because the colts and dolphins held everyone like crazy lol AJE whooped his man and got straight up tackled from behind on the colts first td it is outrageous. Ed has been badly held on pretty much every opponent td highlight 😂. These aren’t like ‘oh there’s holding on every play’ type holds. Our opponents have been getting away with egregious ones the last few weeks. No idea what that’s about. Seattle got dinged for a few holds against us then holding just became legal after that lol you’ve gotta imagine kc will continue that streak. Edited November 11 by Generic_Bills_Fan 1 Quote
wppete Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Dawkins has been a disaster this year with all the penalties. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted November 11 Posted November 11 The one not called on Epenesa for their touchdown was scandalous. He was dragged to the ground. 6 4 2 Quote

Let the players play, didn't make the game about them, only called egregious stuff, etc. The regular refs hurriedly ended their holdout because everyone was noticing how much more enjoyable the game was to watch without them mucking it up constantly. I buy that there’s less chances for holds rushing 4 but there’s definitely been plenty of egregious ones the past two weeks that have all gone uncalled. The colts first TD had an absolutely blatant hold that needs to be called 100% of the time 1 1 Quote

Mahomes will have all day to throw and buffalo is going to have to be near perfect on third downs. Offenses like KC's feast on bend but don't break defenses like the Bills. You'd think the Bills would have learned that by now. Think how much time Geno Smith, Tua, and Flacco had in the pocket and imagine Mahomes back there instead. First, he can throw it more accurately than those three; second, he can run better (albeit like a constipated duck); and three, the refs will bail him out if need be. So no sacks, no holding calls, and no punts in critical situations, since there's always DPI and roughing the passer. Playing downhill isn't a panacea, but it helps with the first two. And if they get to him fast, the refs might not have enough time to think of a penalty. (I think they sometimes throw the flag and think of a penalty afterwards.) 2 Quote
