Like beating the ***** out of them now is going to have a lot more bearing on this year’s postseason then 3/4 years ago playoff losses I am not putting a lot of stock either way W or L. Just show me we can compete with them at a high level and I can live with the outcome. End of the day none of it matters unless we can beat them come playoff time. 1 Quote
notpolian Posted November 12 Posted November 12 To me Cooper is the one I would like to see back the most. Coleman is out already so nothing can be done about that. Kincaid has been somewhat underutilized and hasn't been a difference maker this year as much as some (not me) hoped. Cooper can possibly make KC play a bit differently by making them more reluctant to clamp down with the man to man that kills us late in games. 2 1 Quote

I just feel like the 2 or 3 seed is a near certainty, and the 1 seed is a near impossibility, so playing strongly in defeat and then getting healthy for the end of the season is acceptable. On game day I reserve the right to retract these rational thoughts and go ape at every little thing. 7 Games left. Anything or everything can happen!!! Sit back and enjoy the ride. Keep Mahomey on his backside and it's 9-2. 1 Quote

But they are 0-3 against Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs. I would almost rather let our injured players heal and save our best gameplan for a potential postseason rematch. I agree with those who say the approach should not be a "win at all costs" because it isn't for either team Both teams will play hard undoubtedly... too much pride and bragging rights on the line. But it wouldn't surprise me if both coaches employed vanilla game planning and let the outcome play out. I highly doubt either team will dip into their "bag of tricks" for instance. And there's absolutely something to say about trying to strike the balance between playoff seedings and player health. 3 hours ago, Mark Vader said: The game against the Lions will be big. I know it was just one game, but I think the Ravens exposed us as paper lions. We just don't have the roster to beat the league's best teams. This is only the second time this year that I've gone into a game feeling we were going to lose. If we win, it'll be a much appreciated gift, but I'm not expecting it. I feel you. But to give you some hope their Offense can stress the middle of the field probably better than any team in the league and at the time we were missing 2 former All-Pros and our only D captain. So I think reinforcements are coming there. Additionally their weakness on defense is outside receivers and we werent able to beat them there (humphrey locked up shakir and they kept an eye on Kincaid). Now we do have weapons in Cooper and Coleman's emergence to show we can attack there. For me the offense has needed to attack in the passing game the last few weeks and I feel pretty good we would have a better showing there. The game against the Lions will tell me if we fixed the defensive concerns. 45 minutes ago, NewEra said: I couldn’t care less if people see my opinion as truth or perception. It’s my opinion/perception (along with everyone I watch games with. I’m sharing that opinion. I was pretty transparent in saying I have no clue what the actual stats are- with hopes that someone has them. But no one has them as of yet. my perception is that Allen has thrown more off target passes and percentage of off target passes to Kincaid this year than to anyone else. I’ll stick by that until proven wrong…..and it’s ok if no one agrees with me. It really doesn’t matter that much I gets its your opinion, and I appreciate you mentioning it. I dont like you just saying "prove me wrong." Happy that you are pulling back from that some. I do think the free stats should give some insights into what youre thinking. Are they exact on target/off target stats? No (I appreciate you clarifying what you are looking for), but you can get some insight into on/off target to support your case. Overall, I dont think the stats support your hypothesis (though its not definitive as I note below). Success rate was one of the stats I pulled. If Allen was off target I would expect this to be affected because so much of Kincaid's success has been YAC. If we look at directly at YAC/catch we see Kincaid improved from 4.3 yards to 6.2 yards and this is a bigger jump than allen has from 5.1 yards to 6.2 yards. However, this aint definitive and you could to be onto something about down the field throws that proprietary stats would be needed to show. This convo started with the miss last week but there have been some others that Josh missed to Kincaid. Good thoughts just bring some stats or ask where to look if before you dig in with a prove me wrong attitude (other guy wasnt helping which is why i entered the convo). Also note Im just a dude who likes numbers and football so Im hardly an authority. Im just super rationale so I need to know if things make sense. 2 1 Quote

Injuries are part of the game. But I'd love to witness a game this season where all our key players (Milano, Cooper, Coleman, Johnson...) are healthy. Maybe this roster - if the playmakers are healthy - is better than I give it credit for. And I'd be particularly happy if all the playmakers were healthy for the playoffs. BigDingus Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Interesting article about why Chiefs vs Bills has become a later afternoon game rather than a SNF game - https://amp.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article295385869.html Apparently CBS is guaranteed a certain amount of Chiefs games & a certain amount of Bills games from the NFL schedule makers, so putting them together allows them to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Also, 6 of the 10 highest rated games are Chiefs games, so every Network & service is begging for them. So the NFL has decided to use the Chiefs as the go-to for all their little experiments. Playoff games on Peacock, Black Friday on Prime, Christmas day games, etc. just give em the Chiefs 🤮 2 Quote

Of those three receiving threats, I think Cooper makes or breaks the offense this week. The Colts clamped down hard on the underneath routes and we saw Josh have one of his worst games of the season. The Chiefs have a fantastic run D this year, so we likely aren't going to be able to run to set up the pass. We need someone to stretch the field and Cooper is the best shot 1 Quote
