Yep. It's a nice position to be in. I'm still not seeing a true Superbowl contending team here tbh. I think if we win a playoff game this year that is our reasonable ceiling. Of course Josh could play out of his mind in the playoffs and we get a bounce or two and who knows? But I don't think that is realistic tbh.

Really depends on injuries and WRs.  If Cooper is solid, and Coleman continues to grow, Milano comes back at 80+%, and we get consistent play from Rapp and Hamlin, I think we have a shot.  Thats a lot of *IFs*, but no reason to think we cant beat anyone on any given Sunday

If they lose to the Chiefs on their own home field next week you can expect 2 weeks of Fire McDermott with the "he can only take the team so far" crowd fully empowered throughout the bye week.

Yet if the Bills win, it will be “well, we need to actually do it in the playoffs”.  Which is true, but McD can’t really win with a lot of folks until that really does happen.

It’s a good win, but what is with the sarcastic “fire McDermott” posts all the time. Nobody ever disputed he was one of the best in the NFL at making a sub .500 team look bad. Any concerns about him were never going to be addressed in the regular season.

C'mon... KC has built up equity. That's what happens when you win 3 x Super Bowls, go to 4 of them, and have never finished lower than the AFCCG.

The Bills have not proven they're that kind of team. It's natural for fans to be skeptical.

KC fans are talking the same way as Bills fans. The only difference is they get to end their posts with "... but I'm sure Reid and Mahomes will figure it out".

They only see the Bills that way. Low self esteem fans.

That isn't true of me at all. I am just of the view this team still has some flaws and while they can beat anyone on their day to win 3 games in a row against top teams in the league in the divisional round, AFCCG and Superbowl... I dunno I feel like that is going to be tough. They are doing great so far. They are finding ways to get it done. I'm delighted. I just don't think this version of the Bills is as talented across the roster as previous verions.

I look at the Chiefs the same way to be honest and yet they are 9-0.  But they don't look like a dominating team. Their point differential certainly doesn't scream dominant. Bills sometimes look like a dominating team.

Ravens feel like the best team in the conference and they have 3 losses.

I agree. I give the Chiefs the benefit of the doubt because they have that championship pedigree. They know how to get it done.

If they come out unprepared and unmotivated next week, then it will be deserved.

Not expecting that since we usually play the Chiefs very well in the regular season.

Win or lose next week really shouldn't matter in terms of McDermott's future. If they lose to the Chiefs in the playoffs the owners have to make a very difficult decision to make, especially if the season tickets holders demand a change.

Agree with the bolded. Can we do it 3 Sundays in a row?

EDIT: Said it at the time though - that week 1 win was a proper win. I think Arizona is good

I dont think anyone, even the biggest McD hater, would expect McD to be fired midseason even if they lose 52-3 next week. Even if they are talking about it.

But it would add to the case made later on if/when we have a typical playoff coaching exit.

He’s not going anywhere even if we lose in the Wild Card round

With the team trying to sell PSL's and with a move to the new stadium in 2026/27 season, the season ticket holders will definitely have a lot of leverage with respect to McDermott.  If he loses on Sunday then Pegula will have to really start thinking about whether he can keep McDermott if they can't get past the Chiefs in the playoffs. The Lions game also becomes an issue if he loses to KC. Can McDermott survive if he only beats non-playoff teams but can't be the good teams like the Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, and Lions? I don't know.

McDermott is gone if they lose to all the good teams like the Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, Niners, and Lions and only beat up on bad teams. The PSL owners will push him out if they don't have any faith in him getting the team to the Super Bowl. This is the year they have all the leverage over the owner.

Bruh, Terry isnt listening to fans on his HC hire. There is no leverage. And frankly, rightfully so. As much as I question certain things (and often McD), I'd feel even worse about the future of the team if Pegula was like "People werent buying PSLs so I fired McD!"

The Pegulas know the same secret Ralph knew: The entire WNY region is hooked on the heroin known as the Bills.
