Look....I get it.  They see these guys day in and day out and we don't so we can't see for ourselves what is happening in practice.  But, I just don't understand why Hamler can't get a shot.  A guy like Shavers gets called up multiple times and I am not sure he has made more than 1 or 2 catches for us.  I actually can't think of any off the top of my head.  Hamler, although he has battled through a ton of injuries, was at one point a 2nd round pick, showed that, when healthy anyways, that he could make plays in this league.  He offers elite speed that is lacking on this team as well.

Now do I expect any of these guys to have any type of a major impact on this team or in this game, including Hamler?  No.  I don't.  But I guess I would like to see a different element in the offense to see what it looks like.  I wouldn't be even bringing this up if we were getting anything of note from Samuel, but when we are lining up with Shakir and Hollins as our 2 top WRs, I am more apt to want to swing for the fences with a guy we haven't seen that does at least offer something different.  Whatever, though.  Like I said, they see these guys every day and know what they offer.  There must be a reason they like Shavers better even though he hasn't offered much on the field.  I am guessing it's probably that Shavers is a better blocker in the run game, but call me crazy, I'd like my WRs to catch the ball once in a while as well.

But hey, that's just me.  I was completely expecting this to happen, so it's not a surprise at all.

Great question.  He's active, but is really active?  So far he's been an $8M decoy.

Speaking of $8M, I would like to see Von Miller appear on the stat sheet.  Maybe even record a sack just for the heck of it.

You do know he has 3 sacks this year in only 5 games, right?

You answered your own question in your opening sentence.

You(we) have no idea what goes on in practice and what the coaches see.

I saw those sacks but I've seen him just uselessly bull rushing a lot more.  He did nothing last week that I saw.  Almost got a pressure.

Playing it safe with Cooper...I mean we shouldn't need him this week but hopefully he is on track for next week when we really could use him.

I don't understand why you elevate a guy from the PS and then make him inactive?  What is the point?

Probably weren't sure if Samuel was going to be able to go.

I see the armchair medical staff is in full force per usual

Simply saying it’s understandable that he doesn’t go given that every team he’s played for has traded him. He’s loyal to himself and should be.

As others have said probably weren’t sure on Samuel. It also gives hamler a game check to also keep him happy. With Virgil being elevated to the 53 and shavers also getting called up multiple times probably wanted to gives hamler some incentive to keep working hard and get a little pay bump
