Chandler#81 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 (edited)  Week 10?? Really?? đŤ¨Â Werenât we at St. John Fisher just a couple weeks ago, excited for football to be back but trepidation about the upcoming season? Long time Bills from McDermottâs initial roster and heroâs of recent success became Cap casualties, solid players whoâs contracts were up were encouraged to depart and our finest WR since Eric Moulds asked for and received his release. National pundits -and many here!- believed the run of 4 straight Division titles would come to an end and even reaching our 6th playoffs in 7 seasons seemed far fetched. We all felt winning our opener would be essential if playoffs were even to materialize later. But a poor performance at home in the 1st half vs. Arizona had us distraught and fearing the worst. Fast forward 10 weeks and we still struggle to play good football in the 1st half..đ¤Śââď¸Â The difference from then to today is the unexpected rise of rookies and young developing players stepping into big roles and surprising every observer in the League to stand at 7-2! Even more unbelievable is a 4 game lead in the Division we were expected to surrender! All this before Macyâs even inflates the balloons! đđ đŚÂ  Yes, our one true hope was that our QB would escape serious injury, as a healthy Josh Allen in his 7th season seems destined for a legendary career -and is our greatest bandaid for what ails the team. Indeed, heâs performing at a League MVP level since the 2nd half of game 1. But nothing is settled yet as still half the season remains. As for today, a road game against the Colts present another challenge. Theyâre in a logjam of AFC teams with 4 to 6 wins so theyâre still very much alive and have opted for reliable Joe Flacco to lead the team to the finish while needing to end their current 2 game skid. We KNOW Jonathan Taylor is great -no one needs reminding he killed us in our worst home loss of this era, 41-15 in â21. Overall though, theyâre a middling team on merit so their season is on the line to either right their ship starting now or become an also-ran. Their Defense isnât good, plain & simple. Theyâve had issues on Offense (OL & WR) as well so theyâre asking a lot of Flacco to rescue their season. In this context, theyâll be without stalwart WR Michael Pittman, their Center and DT Deforest Buckner is doubtful to boot!  Then, thereâs us. As a prominent team for years now, we get every opponentsâ best effort, so we have to stay sharp and on top of our game! Itâs getting more difficult with each week as injuries continue to mount! Poyersâ cheap shot on Coleman knocks him out of at least this game and likely through the Bye. Amari, Shoeless Mack & Samuel are also banged up while DE Smoot went on IR.. đ¤Śââď¸Â WR Jaylen Virgil had been a head scratching add the past 2 weeks and is now on the official 53 man roster.. Is he going to figure in here going forward? His 4.3 speed is his calling card so weâll see him on the field this week, if only out of necessity. Our Defense has been marginalized by injury as well with Smoot now on IR, Spector out and numerous other players hobbled. Then thereâs the disappearing act of our highly paid front 4. Very little pressure and virtually no run contain. Daquan, Ed & Von seem invisible these days. I hear itâs called âStrategyâ but it isnât very productive any way you call it..đ¤ˇââď¸ So, while Beane didnât add anyone at the trade deadline, he did bring back DTs Quinton Jefferson & Jordan Phillips this week to try and help out. đ¤At least they both know the system..  On the Plus side, we added yet another player to our growing list of League accolades for AFCPOTW in Tyler Bass, who despite shanking a PAT and doinking another one through, was 3-3 in FGs including a team record 61 yarder at gamesâ end to 𧚠the Dolphins! We need him to be past the yips from now through the playoffs! Last point; we NEED our TEâs to show up and show out! -Note: Quinton Jeffersonâsâ TD was a thing of beauty as Allen was folded up like origami! Snap out of it Dawson & Dalton! We need you to CATCH THE DAMN BALL!đ  The undefeated Champs come here next week and our TE play has been pedestrian at best all season. That simply wonât get it done with a crippled WR group.  We hold a 38-33-1 record overall vs our former Division foe. Gotta add another Dub today!     Letâs DO THIS! Doc Brown Posted November 10 Posted November 10 It would shock me if Cooper or Samuel (both listed as questionable on Bills official website) will play given we signed Virgil to the 53 and then activated two Wr's off the practice squad.  So we're pry rolling at WR with Hollins, Shakir, Hamler, Virgil, and Shavers. If this was ever a game for Josh to make a case for MVP this is the one. Hopefully defense shows out and Brady runs a lot of 12 personnel with lots of throws to our backs and TE's.  3 1 Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted November 10 Posted November 10 We better run the ball tomorrow with some success. Shakir & Kincaid are going to have to carry the workload too. Maybe a new surprise wr steps up? 2 1 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Good day for 22 and 13 personnel groupings! Should be right up Bradyâs alley. 1 Quote

CSBill Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Happy Game Day! Everyone. Â Be prepared to see a lot of run plays from both teams today. But by ground or air, the Bills know they must win to stay alive for that #1 spot in the AFC. Either way, "just in baby, just win!" Â GO BILLS! 2 Quote
