You don’t typically get an elite DE with the 32nd second or so pick in the first round unfortunately - I absolutely go after Mack.

I am quite deep into the edge class now. I confess I lile Carter more having really got into his film than I did when I posted that. He is raw, but he is a relatively recent convert to edge. I think he is my EDGE1. I like Pearce too, he is EDGE2 but I feel like early on he is going to have most impact rushing from a two point stance. I'd feel more comfortable drafting him in the top 15 if I am primarily a 34 team. Agree Scourton is more of a power rusher, but I do think he is a first rounder. More a late 1 grade for me. The other guy I gave an indicative 1st to was Princely Umanmielen from Ole Miss. He is an older guy. 23 by draft day. So I have a flag to come back to him. Reminds me a bit of Will McDonald who had great tape his final year but you are balancing "how much of this is just a grown ass man beating up on college kids". McDonald has transitioned well to making an impact in the NFL despite that. I had an indicative high second on Green, but there certainly are not close to 32 first round grades in this class so I do think he has a chance to slide into the end of the first. My two negatives on him were run game discipline, which is non-existant at this point, and I think he needs to add bulk. I worry that early he might end up a pass rusher only and you have to work out where that leaves him value wise. How old is he? Do you know? I know he transferred. But I'm more willing to take a shot at the pass rush upside in the 1st if he is 21 than if he is 23.

 

Agree Sawyer is a day 2 guy. I also did not have a 1st on Mykel Williams. If you are a 3-4 team and wanna play him as a 5 tech, sure I can understand it. But he is is not a big pass rusher. If he goes to a 4-3 team he will end up as a base defense defensive end who comes out on money downs.

I don't watch any college but Tankathon says it is. They are currently projecting 11 DL in round one.

 

I'd say there is 80+% chance we are taking DL at 32.

I agree that Green needs better play strength. I just love that the guy has a plethora of pass rush moves for a young guy. He’s a Redshirt Soph so I assume he’s 21 but I can’t confirm that . One year at Virginia and two at Marshall

Yea his hands are really good. And I love hands on my pass rushers. I'll forgive not being the twitchiest or the fastest round the edge if you can use your hands. Not that Green is in that category. He doesn't lack twitch. But the technique is better than you expect for a smaller school guy.

There are a lot of guys out there to supplement the pressure package at a good price if you do your homework and thread the needle. Van ginkel, za’darius smith, Floyd 23, clowney 23.

AVG got himself a bigger pay day than would have been expected due to the plays he’s made. Think he might be higher priced than one would imagine. Also feel Minny keep him.

I also believe that Van Ginkel is under contract next year. Thought he signed a 2 year 20 million dollar deal which is a steal for the Vikes. He’s one of my favorite non Bills players

It's a great draft for DL. Just like last year was deep at WR.

 

I'm guessing we go DE in the 1st, and grab a 1T later. Like Nazir Stackhouse in the 3rd/4th. Funny enough, there is a 1T kid coming out named Jordan Phillips. So could just swap him in net year.

Convince Khalil Mack to be a 3rd down specialist and sign him on the cheap to replace Von. Also draft a kid with on day 1 or 2 of the draft to add to the shuffle.
