What to do for Edge Rusher?

Von is healthy, but he's not elite any more. Javon Solomon shows promise, but is it enough? AJ Epinesa is OK, but not special. Rousseau is outstanding overall, but I think he should stay at LE.

Personally, I think they need to move on from Von after this season. I'd be looking to move up in the draft and get Von's successor.

What's you take?

Sorry for the double post. Please delete this one. Thanks.

1T guys are way more easily to find than elite pass rushers.

Maybe, but 1T is the bigger hole currently. At least we have some youth and capable bodies at edge in Soloman and Epenesa, and Rousseau is near elite as a LE. Daquan looks washed and it's compromising everything down the line. Oliver has to take on double teams. You can't rush when you're being rushed on, etc.

I'm not opposed to going Edge early in the draft if someone we like falls to us, but we shouldn't be mortgaging our future on it imo.

Edit: one thing I will say in AJ's defense is he's a decent run defender. Given our issues stopping the run this year, he's actually one of the few guys who's helping.

Step 1 is getting rid of Von and his salary. Thank you for your service but we need to move on in 2025.

There is a possibility that Rousseau breaks out further on the pass rush side. He came out raw and is now a very solid starter that is elite against the rush. 1-2 more years and he can be an all around star.

If he stays where he is, then I think you need to trade up to the early or mid first round to get our guy if we have one. Regardless, we should be on the lookout for late 1st, 2nd-4th round guys with elite potential that are raw.

Otherwise, we need to go trade or free agency for a solid although expensive starter while hoping that Epenesa or more likely Solomon can make a surprising leap.

I'd say draft but I don't think it is a super talented edge group this year. Is Carter from Penn State the top guy? I've seen him listed as such but to my eye he is a classic Penn State toolsy raw edge guy... put him in the Jayson Oweh and Chop Robinson bucket. I'd be fine with the Bills taking a shot but if he is the best guy out there he will go sooner. Just because of need.

I haven't seen as much CFB this year as I'd like with life getting in the way so happy for folks to throw other names at me I might want to try and catch in a game before the season ends and I start my draft work in Jan.

I'd argue we need to prioritize 1T > Edge.

I think they should go DLine on the first 3 picks, at least. The entertainment value would be priceless. 😊

I still think a solid speed WR that teams fear deep is going to be a priority addition. I’m glad we have a bunch of picks, and pray we can hit on most of them.

Pump Von full of HGH and EPO, and take our chances on a positive test result, and let him rip it up, just a random thought on my behalf, 😁🍸🚬

Back to reality…, you aren’t far off on Von being let go, but I suspect that moving up in the draft more than five spots is pretty unlikely, due to the huge costs involved, we will be doing another WR & DT earlier on imo,

Love you sense of humor, the site would totally crash if the went  three in a row on D-line, 🤣
