Everyone seems to think that the great 61 yard field goal solves what was a major problem. Sorry, but no, Bass is still a huge question mark, and could be a fatal flaw in the playoffs. Prior to that great kick, he missed an extra point. Then clanked ANOTHER extra point off the post. After the extra point he barely made, he mishit his kickoff, allowing a return at the worst possible time. So three consecutive shaky kicks, then one spectacular kick, and problem solved? I don’t think so.

Kinda like Justin Tucker for the Ravens 🤔🤦

The OP deserves kudos. Found a way to dupe the censor:

…..seems grammatically proper too.

The only thing I recommend is what my OP stated - it’s not that hard to comprehend- nobody should be convinced that the inconsistency displayed by our kicker this year, and towards the end of last year, is solved,  suddenly,  by him making a 61 yard field goal. Especially in the same game where he missed an extra point &  barely made another. For so many fan boys out there, reality = negativity.

Definitely difficult to comprehend because the OP seems to be stated in response to a sentiment that someone expressed otherwise.

If that were the case you could've directly responded to the post that expressed that.

Instead you made an entire thread to express an accusatory thought based off of a fictional sentiment that nobody expressed.

What exactly are we to do with this thread?

Move it to PPP!

Nobody says a better option is available. It’s a simple point, which apparently u can’t comprehend- his inconsistency all year does not disappear because he made a 61 yard field goal. He was inconsistent in this game as well. The DEFINITION of inconsistency is when u make a 61 yarder & miss extra points.

That's the problem with the post though.

You acknowledge there isn't a better option. So what's the point of bringing up how bad he's been AGAIN?

There have been countless posts about that all off season & all throughout the year. Just read the game day threads to see a million more posts complaining about his kicks. So why, after reading countless posts about how inconsistent he's been, why did we need ANOTHER reminder?

Nobody has forgotten. Since there's no better option, we all know we're stuck with what we have. Or are you under the impression that he'll magically get better if we complain about him more?

Come on - you can’t knock Wide Left for this post.  Bass is still a concern and he’s just pointing it out.  JohnNord has the reasonable take - it’s a concern, but let’s wait and see.

Hell - Coleman is a concern and I’m a huge fan of his and was at FSU, but he needs to catch the damn ball when he’s active again.

If you want skittles and rainbows, go buy a puppy.

umm...do puppies come with skittles?..and where to they keep the rainbow?...asking for a friend 😃

Why even start this thread then?  I'm still concerned about Bass too but when you don't have a better option all you can do is hope for the best.

If you're having difficulties with Bass, try switching to angling for perch or pickerel.  Plus, a better option for dining.

I think Bass are usually the easiest to catch. Kinda crazy, definitely patternable, will hit almost anything when in the right mood.  It's musky that are the real challenge.

Bass has struggled for most of the year but I still think that he is capable of being a good kicker. We can only hope that the 61 yd field goal boosts his confidence.

Having Bass at Kicker is like having Derek Carr or Daniel Jones at QB.  You might see what others  are doing and think that you can do better, but the reality is that you still have a top 32 person at the position and are unlikely to find an upgrade off the street at this point of a season.

For this year, it is best to stick with Bass. If the struggles carry into the remainder of the season, that is when you look at other options.

Some people just love to wallow in misery. They say it stems from parents leaving them in soiled diapers too long when they were babies.

In the OPs case it would seem this problem existed until high school.

I tend to agree with the OP. That kick was incredible, no doubt. However, I’ll still be holding my breath on Sunday during XPs and 37 years FGs. I’m jaded enough to say I need to see a string of success before fitting him for his HOF jacket.

Who. Who "seems to think" this. I don't think anyone does. It's just nice to see our team hit one of those game winning kicks.

You know when there’s a designated left turning lane at an intersection, and there’s another one where you can optionally turn left or continue to go straight, and sometimes people in the designated lane assume that the cars next to them are gonna go straight and not turn so they make a WIDE LEFT and end up in the wrong lane and practically cause an accident?  I don’t think it’s good to do that and wonder why everyone else thinks it’s fine.
