Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) Anyone remember the famous Pat Moran breaking story about Merriman smuggling cocaine in from Canada? He even swore on his daughter’s life it was true! Turned out to be false or at least not substantiated. Edit: found a story about it. The rumor was smuggling steroids. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/812031-buffalo-bills-shawne-merriman-denies-steroid-allegations-and-online-rumors edit: and here was the thread on here about it! He'd gone to Ontario to get some treatment and PED's from a doctor who was peddling some popular designer juice. And yes, it happened. He got cuffed and wouldn't admit what he had in viles he purchased there. The real ex-pat housewives of TSW just doubted it because HS chose not to pursue charges. Which happens sometimes. They have their hands full with violent threats. And they also happen to be Bills fans. 2 1 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Whatever you think of Merriman, his praise for Bills fans was pretty cool. Quote

So it speaks poorly of people when they attack him for telling the truth. As I've told people here for years, the guy who cuffed him has been coming to Bills home games for over 50 years. He got called the first week of the Bills stadium experience because they are 60 year ST holders and they immediately bought-in. If anyone needs clarification he's at our tailgate on Glenn St. next to Hammer's house every game. He also saved the life of a girl who overdosed in Hammer's side yard last season because he had his work kit with naloxone spray with him. These homeland security dudes see some crazy sh!t working the border, but catching a known juicer with some juice? That's just too hard for some internetsters to believe. 😂 4 Quote

Excellent as some posters don’t really understand steroids and GH. The problem is these guys when taking illegally are taking 10-15 times what should be administered by an HCP. Even back then, he could’ve found a doctor and be under their supervision with intermittent testing to check levels. Given I had the deadlift national record for my weight class, and among 100 other trophies, I’m most oroud of repeatedly taking the bronze in the US championships. My body pays the price now 20 years later, but I never took a steroid. I was in meets that were open so against drugged up guys and clean meets. In the late 80’s and 90’s, I routine would go into the heavy hitter gyms, and would see guys do great, but their tendons and ligaments blow eventually and then they are done. These guys don’t realize their tendons and ligaments cant keep up with extreme muscle development. The real Problem is prolonged use if these extreme levels of PED’s is a lead to early heart disease, cancer, etc. The sad thing is an expert physician who specializes in this stuff and monitors closely and rejuvenate guys in their 50’s who has lost testosterone production. I do it the old fashioned way, but have some friends take this stuff at low levels, and feel younger. Im sorry for Merrimans eventual demise, but he went too far prior to the trade here. 1 Quote

I do it the old fashioned way, but have some friends take this stuff at low levels, and feel younger. Im sorry for Merrimans eventual demise, but he went too far prior to the trade here. I never competed in powerlifting competitions but as someone natural and just doing it on my own without any trainers, etc, I had a pretty respectable big 3 of 1,420 lbs(565lb DL, 475lb squat, 380 lb bench(x2)) at 188 lbs. And even at my lesser level of doing it, my body is paying for it now...already had one hip replacement done and about to have a second on the other side 5 years later next month. Have arthritic changes in my elbows that I have to constantly go to PT for so I can keep them good and be able to continue working out. Switched from free weights to heavy resistance bands(love them and will never go back...super effective and much easier on the joints) and I still have random aches and pains most days. Almost 50 and still in great shape, so I guess it's expected but that's without even taking steroids, but damn if this isn't way harder than it was when I was in my 30s even. Now I don't train to push myself and gain new muscle as much as I train to ensure I can workout the next day 😂😂 Problem with tendons and ligaments is they take a long time to grow stronger to support the muscle growth. The body will never allow itself to gain more muscle than what it can support via tendons and ligaments. Steroids completely overrides this and causes muscle growth so rapidly that the tendons and ligaments have no way of catching up. The forces in play from the weights being lifted and explosive movements, etc causes them to essentially snap eventually. Yup, Merriman was never the same after the injuries. 1 1 Quote
