I think they get to 9. If 9 does it they are in. If they get to 10 they are in. AFC is a bit of a mess after the top 4 teams and the Chargers.

why are the Chargers getting this  extra love.  What have they done.

I think they (and possibly the Steelers and Bengals) are the middle class of the conference. They have a low ceiling but a much higher floor than Miami, the Jets, Denver, Indy etc.

They have beaten. Raiders, Panthers, Broncos, Browns,  Saints, -  all (except Broncos) with horrible records.

They have lost to Chiefs, Steelers, and the Cardinals.

Yep, I agree. But they have Bucs, Pats, Broncos, Raiders still to come. I think they have a good coach and a good Quarterback and that keeps them above the bad teams, but they are still below the top teams.

AFC

E - Bills (2)

N - Ravens (3)

W - Chiefs (1)

S - Texans (4)

WC: Chargers (5), Broncos (6), Bengals (7)

NFC

E - Commanders (2)

N - Lions (1)

W - Cardinals (4)

S - Falcons (3)

WC: Eagles (5), Packers (6), 49ers (7)

Wildcard Weekend:

Bengals @ Bills

Broncos @ Ravens

Chargers @ Texans

49ers @ Commanders

Packers @ Falcons

Eagles @ Cardinals

And I can see at least 4 wilcards winning those matchups.

You don't think Steelers make playoffs?

#1 defense in NFL. They have a QB.  Harbaugh is proven winner.

I think they can.. I'm just not sold. Their schedule toughens up and I am not a believer in Russ. They are the touch and go one for me.

But the Chargers have not beaten anyone and still have tough games both within division and outside.  I see the Steeler's competing better than the Chargers.

Bills go 6-2 down in the second half. Highlight; the Bills end KC’s undefeated season.

They end up the 2nd seed and get to beat up on the Broncos in the WC round.

After that my crystal ball is very cloudy.

I'm not getting into all the division races, but my pick for the Super Bowl right now is Lions vs Ravens. I just can't see Buffalo getting past Baltimore.

Baltimore's defense is BAD. Problem is we failed miserably in taking advantage of their biggest weakness in our match up. If somehow Bills can maintain  homefield against Ravens in the playoffs I like our offenses chances much more in a rematch against the Ravens. They will have to score a lot obviously because Ravens are going to move the ball.

I have Steelers, Chargers and Broncos as WC teams. Chargers and Broncos look like automatic WC teams becuase they both have pretty easy schedules down the stretch. Steelers, question is how good are they? If they are legit good they could split with Baltimore and actually take the North division. At very worst they finish 3-6 down the stretch and still take the 7 seed with a 7-5 conference record meaning they lose no more than 4 conference games here on out.

Their defense isn't great. But they do have playmakers, force pressure and get turnovers.

Out season has ended the last 2 years at home. I don't think it matters that much.  Not when our defense cannot stop the run and Lamar has gotten much better winning from the pocket. Our best bet to get by them is that someone else knocks them out unexpectedly.

i could see pittz edging out baltimore in the north, and pittz being 4 and baltimore being 5 and baltimore at pittz becomes a pivotal game in the afc playoffs.

i think pittz plays baltmore really well, and can match up physically up front.  russ is great at one thing, that's extending plays and throwing deep rainbows and baltimore plays d like riverboat gamblers and loads up the front and dares you to go over the top (while commit fouls on nearly every play hoping they don't get called, my gosh they are physical and dirty).  this kinda sets russ up, who struggles vs disciplined d's but gets big plays vs aggressive ones.

this means if buffalo beats the 6 seed as the #2, who imo is one of houston, colts, chargers, but i think houston wins the 3rd seed so it's prolly the chargers, they host pittz in the divisional round and i think we match up well vs russ team that is a better fit to beat baltimore.

i suppose the even more silly dream scenario is that kc hosts bmore in the division round (not that unlikely, if bmore is the only wild card to win week 1 in the playoffs) then we have a shot at hosting bmore in the chip round presuming we win our divisional round (vs i suppose houston, who will be 3 seed imo).

that would get the kc monkey off our back via luck if bmore beats them, and then you have what might be the most interesting game possible with bmore and lamar who crushed us vs the at home bills for the afc chip.  they crazy bit of it is if we win that and go on to face detroit in the chip, we will be playing games with our absolute worst match ups and not facing kc.

another goofy thing i could see is the above, we beat bmore at home to get to chip, but detroit turns into a pumpkin vs a veteran philly team and we have the absolute easiest shot at a chip because while hurts and barklay are tough matchups, i don't think philly is as big of a grind it out without mistakes team as bmore or kc or detroit, and they just don't get pressure on the qb well, which sets up a legendary allen performance.

Easy schedule? The broncos play KC twice, @chargers, @bengals, vs Atlanta.

Bengals are going to get the last spot IMO. I think they can lose to the chargers next week and STILL get it.

You can say the same about our Bills. The only team with a winning record Bills have beaten is Arizona. Then they lost to the only two other teams with winning records they’ve played. Are you not sold on the Bills either?

Often times I don't know if it's the Steelers playing, or the Gotham City Rogues. 🤨

Let’s hope for a better game plan than that. lol

yes. They also have raiders, Browns and home against the Colts. Home against the Falcons isn’t that daunting. Chiefs is week 18. Almost zero percent chance Chiefs are playing most of their starters in that game.
