It’s the economy stupid” people voted on rent and grocery costs. As I said before the election, it was the have’s against the have nots. The number of people who consider themselves have nots was underestimated. One of the primary causes is the massive concentration of wealth at the top. That’s not changing with trump.

Kind of amazing Kamala accumulated a BILLION PLUS dollars to fritter away on her campaign.

I don't think the E. Jean Carroll thing happened. She's a loon. And her political connections point toward the whole thing being a hit job.

I mean, not that you're worried about E. Jean. You apparently are as well versed on the economy as Kamala.

What percentage of illegal immigrants are criminals?  How many are top government officials?  I’m visiting Charleston SC and rode up the elevator with an Hispanic hotel worker who answered dos when I asked what floor.  He looked at me blankly when I spoke back to him. Hate to think what this room will cost when all these workers are deported.  There’s always international destinations I suppose.

The fact that you believe every foreign national is illegal is amazing to me. Disney has a ton of foreign nationals working at their hotel and none of them are illegals. For jobs like that there are programs, many of which are poorly run by the fed, but Marriott has a ton of these people also. The illegals are working in jobs that pay cash daily, not large hotels.

“Immigrants make up 31% of the industry’s workforce, although they make up just over 13% of the US population,” Rubenstein writes, offering a nuanced perspective on the employment dynamics within this crucial sector. With nearly 15 million Americans employed in tourism and hospitality, this text invites a critical examination of the hiring tendencies and their broader socioeconomic consequences.

and while tourism is important this is more:

Undocumented immigrants account for 50 percent of all hired field and crop workers, making them essential to the success and continued viability of American farms.

A passage that is too sane to comprehend for the Redhawks, Roundys, and Tibs of the world:

What did you make of Harris’ decision to call Trump a fascist?

“I love people that are absolutely going to vote for Trump. They’re not fascists. They’re not those things. I think if you go to the tickle switch, use those kinds of terms, then it’s kind of hard to walk back on those things.

That’s kind of a word that really isn’t part of the vernacular for voters. Scolding harder or clutching the pearls harder, that’s never going to work for Democrats.”

Democrats need to be more moderate and go back to their roots of being in touch with the working class. Simple as that. Celebrities, the squad and big tech executives do not represent the blue collar and white collar workers making 30-100k. Moral issues are less likely to be a concern when a person is working two jobs and living check to check.  Traditionally, the democrats have done a better job of getting that but that did not happen this time around.

This country has a history of adjusting to the center a few years after the extreme part of a party gains power. This is what happened. Regular people and some newer democrat politicians seem to have gotten this after the election. Unfortunately for those on the left, , the establishment politicians, celebrities and children in university bubbles have not understood this yet and they are the most vocal on social media.

Umm, they won’t get enough Americans to do the jobs for minimum wage. And yes, there are many migrant workers in many undesirable jobs working for far less than any American would.   Meanwhile, they pay SS and Medicare taxes without benefiting.

Still watching. But yes, we’ll certainly go there again. Whether permanently or not is the issue.   And most of the housekeepers at the hotels I’ve stayed at are recent immigrants based on their grasp of English. I never asked for their proof of citizenship nor do I expect their employers did.

Without the immigrants then wages would go up,to attract workers or employers could apply for workers imported legally.

Many do in the farming business. It is honorable work, deserving of a decent wage.

Umm, 31% of hotel workers are illegal immigrants. Are you thinking that doesn’t include national chains?  Post a link proving your point and stop being ignorant.  “The illegals are working in jobs that pay cash daily, not large hotels.”

Maybe but guess what happens to prices. Personally, I’m ok with that but I’m not among the 52% complaining bitterly about prices.

Reminds me of an old Democrat Party saying.

“ If you do that, who is going to pick our cotton? “

Yes, illegal immigrants are just like slaves. Btw, walked by the old slave market today. Amazing that was happening less than 175 years ago. Shameful time in our history. Do u agree?

You are such a douche. Nice edit to 175 years from 100. You aren’t good at math though so why don’t we let it slide.

the key point from Fetterman that will forever escape you:

“Scolding harder or clutching the pearls harder, that’s never going to work for Democrats.”
