ChrisWatson#21 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Cincy for a couple reasons. Bills need to create separation from Baltimore since they have the tie breaker and I would like to see the Bills avenge the Bengals loss in the playoffs. Lastly it hurts JA17's MVP chances if the Ravens have a better record than the Bills at season's end. Quote

Every year it seems like the Bengals start off 1-7 and end up 10-7 and almost unbeatable in the playoffs unless they play another AFC North team. Bengals I would expect to win vs us or KC, regardless of the home team, but would be a 50/50 proposition against Pittsburgh. If the Browns were put into the playoffs, regardless of record or injuries I would give them a 70% chance of beating the Bengals. Football is weird. I would rather the Bengals not be in the playoffs at all. 2 Quote
MasterStrategist Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) I'm rooting for Cincy. Rather see the Steelers win that division and Bmore be the 5 seed. Cincy has had our number recently, but I'm not scared of any team if we enter the playoffs mostly healthy/without any critical injuries. Edited November 7 by MasterStrategist 1 1 Quote
ProcessTruster Posted November 7 Posted November 7 pretty sure I'm good either way this early in the season I want to play the team with the most key injuries, whoever it may be ; relative health in key positions is the great divider in playoff games. 1 Quote

The Steelers have all 6 division games left (2-Ravens, 2-Bengals, 2-Browns) along with games against the Chiefs, Eagles and Commanders. I don't see a lot of wins in their last 9 games. Quote

It's like pb and Jelly. Both are good, but together......look out lol. Bad example but you get it. Quote

Buffalo is unequipped to deal with a power running team that can hit you in the mouth. Any team that runs a base Nickel with undersized DTs is going to struggle in that situation, and the Ravens were built in a lab to beat up on defenses like Buffalo’s. Recent history disagrees with your thinking. Bills are 2-3 vs Ravens under McDermott, including horrific loss in the 2018 season opener where Josh was thrown to the wolves; since Allen came into his own in 2020, 2-1 Bengals, we're 1-3 under McDermott; since 2020, we're 0-2 Quote

Johnnycage46 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I am rooting for cincy. I think the 1 seed is out for us based on KC's record and remaining schedule...even if we beat them. 2 is next best so need more losses for Bmore and Houston to give us some wiggle room. Quote

FireChans Posted November 7 Posted November 7 100% Ravens I will fear Lamar in the playoffs when he doesn't inexplicably become terrible. I will always fear Burrow/Chase/Higgins to potentially light up the opposition. Quote
Wizard Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Ravens for a loss. First, it gives breathing room for seeding. Second, Jackson a little banged up is good. Third, hope it is low scoring and Jackson and Burrow are just average to boost Allen's MVP odds. Quote

That is true about Henry, and while I'd like to argue that previously the Ravens DID have Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards, they aren't in the same "weight class" as Henry; and 30 year old Henry is so far, looking as though he found the Fountain of Youth to return to his 2019/2020 prime. 1000+ yards after 9 games is ridiculous, especially when he's only playing 50-60% of the snaps per game. So I have to say you've got a point. 1 Quote
chongli Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I'm very proud of this thread. I only read through the first two pages, but that is because all the great opinions which made me think hard. They were mostly al high quality posts bringing up perspectives I hadn't thought of. This goes to show you the excellent posters in TBD and one reason why this is the best Bills forum and best football forum, period. 2 1 Quote
Dablitzkrieg Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I think you can argue either way. I hope they both lose 1 Quote
Big Blitz Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Rooting for the Bengals. Ok I can’t. I’ll end up rooting for Baltimore but I think the Bengals winning is a better result for us. I mean if you can’t be the 1 seed you want the 2. No AFC game will be easy. Hopefully Denver ends up the 7. Quote

The key to their playoff success has been their defense, stepping up in the postseason more so than their offense stepping up. I’m not sure they’ll get their defense to step up like usual. Quote
PonyBoy Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I get the arguments for Baltimore or Cincy to win tonight. I am going to use a phrase we all know. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best! Cincy owned us for a playoff game and the Hamlin tragedy...Good! Beat them in the playoffs! Ravens, Jackson MVP 2X over Josh... Good beat him/them in the playoffs! Chiefs, beat them in the regular season games..., not in the playoffs when it really matters... Good! Beat them in the playoffs! NFC champs?... Good, beat them in the Superbowl!! It's the only way to begin to get the media monkey off our backs!! Lets F ing go Bills!!! Quote
zow2 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I said Baltimore but i sure wouldn’t mind if Lamar threw a couple picks and generally had a subpar Lamar game to hurt his MVP chances Quote
Steptide Posted November 8 Posted November 8 So are we treating this as the official TNF thread? 1 Quote
