Ravens v. Bungles TNF Gamethread ( Please leave your Bills' observations at the door ; -)

Serious question.  The knee-jerk response is probably "Cinci" but I think I'd prefer to see the Bungles dead and buried.  Burrow and their offense worries me more in the playoffs than the Ravens (W4 result notwithstanding).

Thoughts?

I'm rooting for the Ravens.  Would rather not get stuck with them in the WC Round if we can't hunt down KC for the 1 seed.

Counterpoint is a 4-6 Bengals team isn't buried.  They just become another team right in the thick of it... and outside of KC, Baltimore is my second favorite team to watch lose.

Think you can make the case for either.

I'll root for Cincinnati. If Baltimore loses tonight and then at Steelers next week, Pit will actually be in pretty good position to take that division.

EDIT: Also can’t stand the Lamar hype train.

Also a factor for sure

The Ravens are the one team that I think beats the Bills the most often out of 100 games.  Buffalo is unequipped to deal with a power running team that can hit you in the mouth.  Any team that runs a base Nickel with undersized DTs is going to struggle in that situation, and the Ravens were built in a lab to beat up on defenses like Buffalo’s.

I agree.  Bury Cinci.  Ravens have already demonstrated that they will lose another WTF game this year.  And for some reason that I just can't put my finger on, I'm just not that worried about playoff Lamar.

I'm voting for a good old fashioned tie.

Yeah that might be true but come playoffs time it’s a different story. The coaching staff want to turn Lamar into Mahomes and Allen by calling passing plays after passing. It’s a lot easier to defend Lamar’s passing than Burrow’s passing in the playoffs. So I hope Balt puts Cincy out of its misery tonight.

I wonder if playoff Lamar gets helped out by a playoff Henry. Playoff Ravens are going to be different than years past due to planning for both these guys.

The great thing about games in the AFCN is that all 4 teams hate each other, and they physically beat the crap out of one another. It might be the best division as far as intense rivalries go.

The Ravens play well when they’ve got a lead, but they struggle playing catchup.  If they get out to an early lead in the postseason, they’re going to be really tough to beat.

I prefer the Ravens not be the wildcard and we somehow draw them in round 1.  And I'd also prefer Cincy not be a wildcard and we draw them in round 1.  So it's a no brainer, rooting for the Ravens to win and eventually take over the division, while pushing the Bungles down

I am hoping Pittsburgh wins the division. If the Bills do end up playing the Ravens in the playoffs, then at least the game would be in OP.

I'm rooting for the Ravens.   I think Cinci with Burrow could be very dangerous in the playoffs if he gets hot because  of the single elimination format.  Get them out of playoff contention early IMO.

I think that the Ravens may run out of steam by the end of the season and come into the playoffs not in prime form.  Lamar is already banged up and nursing some nagging injuries.  More importantly, Harbaugh is using Derrick Henry way too much rather than pacing him to have something left for later.  One of the tv analysts brought this up recently.  Henry is on a pace to have 300+ carries ... at almost 31 years old.  In previous seasons with Tennessee, his production declined late in seasons where he was heavily used early on.   The Ravens without Henry are much less of a problem.

You know, it’s been a while since a game ended in a tie. That would be lovely.

Bengals sadly- Ravens have a tie breaker against us so we need to have at least 1 more win than them. We already do, but I’d rather the peace of mind.

Torn.  I agree that Burrows is dangerous in the playoffs.  However, would love to put more distance between Ravens for seeding...and also, and this can't be overstated, I really really don't want the Jets to make the playoffs.  If Cincinnati is out there aren't many teams between the Jets and playoffs. If Bengals lose and Bills beat the Colts, and the Jets win, they would be tied for 8th in the AFC.  They would only trail Denver...and I don't trust the Broncos.
