Look for years the image I had of him was somebody overly obnoxious because of his speaking tones.  So I understand that being a complete turnoff.

I have to admit though if I actually tried to hear him out….   a lot of times his takes on things aren’t bad at all.

His presentation is definitely annoying.  It's amazing his show gets the ratings it does

I think he has some pretty good NBA takes sometimes, I tend to agree more with his NBA takes than his NFL ones

He knows his stuff and yeah his delivery is bad but that's what keeps him on the air. I'll take him over guys like Skip Bayless who seems to know little outside of what happened in Dallas in the 1990s or Keyshawn Johnson who is completely biased.

I don’t like people screaming at me, so I never listen to this A-hole.  But then, I try to avoid all of ESPN unless they have a particular game I want to see.

All part of his shtick. Though maybe he is.

One of the absolute most horrible things ESPN has done to sports was to put Steven A Smith and Skip Bayless together on a morning show.

It entirely changed the way sports are presented, for the worse, forever.

It all depends upon whether he's doing his "schtick" or not.  When he is calm, he presents many rational thoughts.

I just don't listen to any of these shows because they are all competing for air time so they're all obnoxious.

Even when hes not doing his schtick I don't think he offers anything more than another casual fan of the league. Here's a great example.

Don't like him on sports, but I've seen him on Cuomo a few times and was surprised by his knowledge with politics. He and O'Reilly have entertaining exchanges.

I just hate that the NFL has become a 24/7 thing. If we're not watching it, we're watching a bunch of know-it-alls talk about it. I can't do it. I watch some pre-game stuff on Sunday, and that's about it. I used to watch post-game highlights, but that's even gotten stale.

Why does he have to yell all the time?

Don’t necessarily hate his takes, but I despise his presentation

Sometimes a Preacher has to yell so you can see the light.

The day after Tua's concussion against the Bills I thought he was very rational and made intelligent comments.  He basically said that we all want Tua to retire but the reality of the money involved means there is no way Tua would not return.
