Pork tenderloin sandwich and a shrimp cocktail

The breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches made sense to me  because there are a lot  of pigs in Indiana.

When AI told me shrimp cocktail was also big in Indiana, I discounted it.  Indiana is far away from any ocean.  But then I learned that there are a growing number of shrimp farms in the hoosier state, producing both saltwater and freshwater shrimp.

So maybe it's legit to call the shrimp cocktail a regional food even if Indiana doesn't have an ocean and shrimp cocktails are served across the States.

you are doing a nice job putting a positive spin on this! But if your area is known for shrimp cocktail, then it’s safe to say it is not a good food town!

What else is on the menu in Indy? Grocery story sushi!

It's not corn season so I'll revert back to a something a little more Buffalo ...

A Beef Roast in the slow cooker with Onion Soup mix and water. A light coating of Lemon Pepper and a few sliced onions on top. When it's finished I'll pull it apart with a fork and put it on a Kimmelweck bun with some Horse Radish.

Homemade baked Mac & Cheese on the side.

St. Elmo Steakhouse is famous for its shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce is said to be special for its spiciness; my grandmother served it hotter on Christmas Eve.

If you're visiting Indianapolis, I recommend steering clear of Italian food, as it awful. Instead, consider ordering Domino's.

I think of the shrimp cocktail as a relic of the 1970s - not really a thing anymore.

It's weird that it's associated with Indy though the St. Elmo Steakhouse connection, I guess, explains it if that's one of the more famous dishes at one of Indy's more famous restaurants.

I agree with Miyagi, if a town (especially a landlocked one) is claiming the shrimp cocktail as one of its signatures, it's probably not a foodie place.

Pittsburg does the pork loin with garlic Rob on a crusty Italian if I recall.

Made them last year.

I took a look at my fridge just now and got enough leftovers to feed an army — Risotto made with Duck Soup, Charcoal Grilled Duck Legs, Grilled Thick T-bone Slices, Beef Stew, Chicken & Beef Broth, 3/4 lb Hand Formed Chicken Burgers, Grilled Turkey Wings,  Grilled Turkey Backs, Grilled Yellow Peppers…

I may have to just eat leftovers or re-purpose them for this game.

You must be a chef, eh?

We’ll, when there for work, I know they rave about their pork tenderloin and steak sandwiches as well as their shepherds pie.

Honestly, I could care less as my tradition is 12 garlic hot flats with my wife before she gets over me yelling at the tv.  The NFL is new to her as I’ve mentioned as she was raised in China, but she’s trying to learn.  She just laughs at me, but she always wears now her bills tshirt or tank, amd the licens plate boundary on her car is a Bills one.  She does this stuff for me just like I eat her traditional Chinese food (not the stuff in the restaurants is crap, hers is actually relatively healthy and spicy).

So a dozen garlic hot flats for us in my Fredex authentic jersey it is as we don’t lose when I wear it.  I wore a bills golf shirt last week as we had people over and jinxed it keeping the Fish close.  That won’t happen again.

Turns out the wife made reservations for our daughter's birthday on Sunday after the game downtown so NO big meal for me for game time.

Looks likes a new Italian restaurant I read about.

Gnocchi or raviolis look good on the menu.

Damn -- this means I have to shave, shower and dress up rather than be the usual slob I am during Bills games.

FML!!!

My wife is making her Italian sub dip for the game.  It’s basically all the ingredients you’d find in an Italian sub, chopped up and served with a sliced baguette.  Pretty tasty.

I’m doing eggplant parm for dinner.  Our neighbors just had their baby this week and my wife wants to bring them some food, so a perfect opportunity for me to make a few pans of that with some of my father’s famous garlic bread. 🤌🤌

Spikes, you could always, s*$#t, shower, and shave in the am, toss on you’re jersey, and have you’re sport coat and golf shirt ready, so it’s bang, you’re off at 4:15pm, and still make 6pm reservations. One husband and dad to another who’ve always balanced bills fandom, husband and father to make everyone happy.

My ex was smart enough to know to never book me for a kids party on Sunday afternoon during the Bills season.  My current wife figured that out at the jump.

It never ceases to amaze me how much time, money and thought some people put into food.  It all ends up in the same place whether it's prime rib or fruit loops.

Exactly!!! Not just on game days but any day.

That’s the truth brother.  There was blame on both sides in the first, but each of us learned our lessons and is a great mom to our three children.  My current wife is wonderful.  I appreciate you asking.  Anyway, have fun at your daughters birthday dinner.  If you want a happy wife, don’t keep looking at the scores in the 4pm games.  You know the drill.

A little wing dip. Left over extra chicken from last nights pot pie going to good use on a football Sunday.

Doing some soup (wife’s doing) for a chilly fall day.

Funny all this pork talk, I just took some loins out of the freezer to marinate for this week, and will be having pulled pork tomorrow at my parents.

Trying to limit the booze with the holidays on the horizon, and the belt line in the cross fires, so maybe just some Gatorade for the game to replace the electrolytes from all the sweating.
