So where are the Bills

Offense (23):

QB (2) - Allen, Trubisky - White (PS)

RB (3) - Cook, Davis and Johnson  - Gore Jr (PS)

FB (1) - Gilliam

TE (3) - Kincaid, Knox, Morris

WR (5) - Cooper, Shakir, Samuel, Hollins & Coleman* - Hamler (PS), Virgil (PS), Shavers (PS).

OL starters (6) - Brown, Edwards, McGovern, Torrence, Dawkins & Anderson

OL backups (3) - Clapp, SVPG, Van Denmark  - Gable (IR) - M Edwards (PS), Gouraige (PS)

Defense (27):

DT (6) - Oliver, Jones, Phillips, A Johnson, Q Jefferson, & Logue - Carter (IR) - Ankou (PS),

DE/Edge (5) - Rousseau, Toohill, Epenesa, Solomon, & Miller - Smoot (IR) - Jonathan (PS), Cline (PS)

LB (6) - Williams, Bernard, Morrow, Spector, Andressen, & Ulofoshio - Milano (IR)

CB (5) - Benford, Douglas, Elam, Ingram, & T Johnson - Hardy (PS)

DB (2) - Lewis & Codrington (also KR)

S (3) - Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop - Cine (PS), K Jackson (PS)

Specialists (3)

Martin (P), Bass (PK), Ferguson (LS)

* Coleman now injured and could be out multiple weeks.

Injuries to Smoot and Carter cleared the way for Phillips and Jefferson.  Coleman's injury coupled with Cooper's injured wrist, really puts our WRs in a terrible bind.  Shakir is the only reliable receiver at this point.  Samuel & Hollins will have to step up.

Why have we not implemented more 4 receiver sets with 1 TE where Kincaid and Shakir play the slot and a Knox lines up as TE?

I feel we were most successful in 2020 when we spread it out and had our best options on the field

That time we had speed in John Brown to take the top of the defense...With Beasley lethal in the slot, it allowed Diggs to pretty much opportunity to go inside or outside.

We currently don't have a John Brown equivalent on this team...

John Brown ran a 4.34.  Curtis Samuel ran a 4.37.  We need Samuel to get healthy, and then yes, we have speed to take the top off this year

Defences adapted and went more small so a lot of teams (one being the bills) adapted by going more heavy with 21 and 12 personnel.

But I do agree that I would like to see the bills a bit more in spread as I think that's where Josh Allen is at his best

Being able to win downfield is about a lot more than being fast. Samuel has never really been a big downfield guy.

Yes but Samuel is injured....We can only count the players who can step on the field 100%

I don't know if you guys knew this or not, but our run game is pretty good........we may have to lean on it quite a bit until everyone's healthy and back in the line-up.

I think you are correct, as well as a bit more Cook and Davis in a pass catching role.

Agreed.  I think we are going to the dink-and-dunk offense...though Indy's run defense is premier.  This is going to require Allen to be on top of his game for 60 minutes.

Kincaid isn't reliable?

Catch % was 80.2 last season and is down to 59.3%  That worse that Knox (61.5%).  So I'd say his reliability this season has taken a hit.  Shakir is at 93.3%, Davis 90.9%, Cook 86.4%.

Iron Hands Hollins is at 48%, Coleman 61%, Samuel 63.5% and Cooper 71.4 % in limited action.  Is it any wonder we can't complete passes down the field?

Most balls Kincaid hasn't caught have been bad throws or good defensive plays.  Might have had a few drops here and there but I haven't seen this huge drop off.  Shakir might have the best hands in NFL history...currently shattering his own record set last year for highest catch percentage in a season with 45+ targets.

Catch % is such a grossly misused stat.

Two more practice squad members: Davidson (TE), Dean (WR)

Agreed, quite honest its going to require the entire team and most definately the run D be at the top of their game.

We are in the middle of the pack on defense yet did nothing on this side of the ball. Waiting for Von Miller's latest off the field imbroglio to elapse is not a strategy.

This after watching Derrick Henry steamroll us tells me that we are not all in. The Lions picking up Zadarius Smith is a move by a team that is all in
