I don't think it's going to be that much a surprise to them. I hope they double Chris Jones whenever they want a big play. Jones has the freedom to freelance and pick whichever lineman he wants to face. I want to use Belichick's philosophy here: player X can beat our O-Line but X cannot be Chris Jones. It'll be interesting. The move from McGovern-Morse to Edwards-McGovern probably means the Bills are better at certain things and worse at others. To what degree it'll affect Jones' performance will be interesting to watch. Maybe it's a wash, maybe it isn't. Quote

Connor is a different animal on center. LG seems to have worked out. Torrance I never hear about And Spencer Brown's is healthy , he playing quite well. Early season stats were outstanding if I recall correct Quote

I like this scheme better than last years and the players, even 6th lineman seem to be a big positive so far 1 Quote
PoundingDog Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) McGovern is more physical than Morse - taller, heavier, and longer arms (34+" vs 32+" pretty significant for a lineman), of course most importantly, a lot cheaper. For reference, Chris Jones has 34.5" arm length. Overall I think he's more stout than Morse, but not as mobile in going out in space for blocking. In general, he's better match up than Morse against a guy like Chris Jones. I myself do not remember the Bills ever had Morse go one on one against Jones, and I doubt they will let McGovern to do so either. Edited November 13 by PoundingDog 2 Quote

Buffalo played a defensive tackle, DeForrest Buckner, on Sunday who is very similar to Chris Jones. I think they handled it pretty well. 1 Quote

Didn't Romo say something about the right side of our line struggling a bit early in the game? I watched "The Cyborg" a few times during the game and thought he was doing well. But I didn't realize how well till watching this. And I would never have believed leaving "The Plumber" one-on-one with Chris Jones was a good idea. 3 Quote

I don't think it was so much that Romo saw the line struggling. It was more like he felt that Jones was getting close and he couldn't believe that the Bills would be foolish enough to block Jones one on one because nobody is good enough to do that and eventually Jones would destroy some Bills plays....but the disaster never came. 2 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted Monday at 04:39 PM Posted Monday at 04:39 PM Did anyone notice if spags was lining up Jones on the edge at all yesterday. I know he plays that card in the playoffs. Quote

I didn't notice that but Marino on his podcast was talking about Van Demark's play and that he did well even with Jones lined up across from him a couple times. 1 Quote
