BillsPride12 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Sad news. While I have probably only been there a handful of times that place was absolutely a Buffalo staple Quote
Sweats Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 That was a song, wasn't it?........."Swannie, how i love ya, how i love ya, my dear old Swannie" 1 Quote
Wacka Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Only time I was in there was one afternoon when I was headed to the outer harbor and needed urgently to pee. Quote
Saxum Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 https://buffaloah.com/a/ohio/170/170.html  Surprised it is not a Buffalo landmark. Quote
boater Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Towne Restaurant closed because the family was no longer interested in running it. Similarly, I wouldn't be surprised if no one wanted to step up and run Swannies. Â Owning a restaurant can be a real ball buster. We're running out of independent restaurants. 2 Quote

Yeah, bummed about the Towne. It used to be my go-to after playing a gig at The Continental (long gone). 2 Quote

All about its glory days. (And of course, we do band promotion in that group, as our set has a lot of songs played there). 1 Quote

I remember seeing the local band Pauline and the Perils at the Continental. The 80s were good times. 2 Quote
