It gives us a higher chance to win our division than the Chiefs!

There are 3 teams with winning records in the AFCW vs 1 team with a winning record in the AFCE so that’s so surprising at all.

If we go through that 5 game stretch 4-1 rather than 3-2, and we get a W against KC, we still have a shot at the 1.  KC plays 2 games in 4 days (12/21 vs Hou and 12/25 @ Pitt).  If they split those and have a loss against us, we just need them to take 1 more loss (split w Denver?) to have a realistic shot at the 1 seed.

For sure one can hope

Make the Playoffs? 🙄

That is NEVER the goal for this team!

Grabbing the #2 Seed to have 2 Home Playoff games is the minimum now!

VERY wishful thinking. Stretching it to the best, the Bills could be likely 14-3.

Very, very unlikely that the Chiefs lose two more games!

The simulator it has is random at best. But you can insert your own picks and playoffs

Yeah the KC loss to Car was clear about that. I would laugh

We're at 10%+ every year because of Josh, not the coaching.

It is all three, Josh, GM, Coach.  McD takes so much heat, some deserved, but he is widely recognized as a top coach in the NFL and deservedly so.  Despite some sketchy decisions and poor clock management, he created a culture of winning, making the players feel cared for and part of something, and providing a great fit with our GM.  Ask the Jets how it is when GM and coach are not on the same page.  Not good!  We are very fortunate to have all three.

i've seen people mad that the Cheifs only have to play the NFC South. But we play against the AFC East and thats not much different then the South.

I mean we have a 4 game lead on the entire division and we still play the hapless Patriots twice in the last 3 weeks.

And those Patriots will be fighting for the top draft pick.

Agreed.... this one when we all looked at the schedule in July/Aug when training camp started looked at this game as a must win with the difficulty of our schedule.. plus we have a gauntlet to run thru in the Chiefs, Lions, Rams and 9ers. I felt like early on we needed to come thru this 5 game stretch 3-2...  Beating the Colts would be huge in that goal... 3-2 run the table against the Pats and Jets.. you are 13-4 fair shot at a bye and a home game...  I dont see the Ravens or Texans at 13-4 with their current records and division... Chiefs I think unless they implode have the 1 spot.

If the Bills run the table, and the Chiefs lose one more game, the Bills get the one seed. A lot will depend on the Lions game, which should be a doozy.

You would think that with better competition in their division, that the Chiefs would have trouble winning every week.  But they're very good at figuring out how to beat each opponent they face -- figuring out their advantages, minimizing their own weaknesses.  As good as Mahomes is (very), I think it's Reid that really puts the Chiefs in an elite level.

Because you can’t get it for free?

I would think this would be available to The Athletic subscribers, since it's owned by the NYT.

Forgot that it was.

Don’t know the cost of the Athletic, but it’s included with a new subscription to the NYT, all for a $1 a week for a year.

But you have to admit, this year, so far, an extremely good job by McDermott and his coaches to quickly take this team, with so many new pieces, and turning it into a contender almost immediately?

Almost startling, actually.
