Brady is a master of not scheming guys open, having the play break down and Josh doing something miraculous….

and then getting the credit for a high flying offense.

Absolutely but surely he only leaves Detroit for a Head Coaching gig?

 

If the wheels fell off Detroit this year a la Dallas, San Fran or Jacksonville then maybe but seeing as that didn’t happen it’s more likely he returns to the team if he’s passing up the HC opportunity again?

I like McD but I was advocating for Johnson last year.  Like you said- there aren’t many I’d take, but Johnson is the top choice.  Not sure who else I’d be a fan of. Slowick impressed last season. The pass blocking has been abysmal this year- so he hasn’t been as impressive

I see Brady as Bobby Slowik last season.  He’ll get an interview or two but I think it’s a year too early for him.  Hopefully Brady follows up with a better year than Slowik.  He’s not getting any HC jobs this season.

 Vrabel is exactly the type of coach I see the Bears hiring. If he can bring a good OC with him. He's a culture changer.

No I mean HC.  I would replace Mcclappy with Johnson.   And he'd be dumb not to think this was the perfect job.

 

Mcd immediately gets hired and turns another team around. 

 

In my mind I have zero doubt his def will suck come playoffs.

Chicago is going to go all in for Ben Johnson.  They’re going to have plenty of competition, though.  He’s going to have his pick of any job available (and maybe even a few that aren’t).

It's his call. If the Bills job became available,  I guarantee you he'd choose Josh/Buffalo over Caleb/Chicago.

I agree.  I don't see a contending team putting all their eggs in Brady right now. 

 

Unless maybe it's a floundering team who does seemingly random things like the browns, raiders, or colts

Remember betting odds are driven by action. The bet is more relevant to them locally, and is one of the few names everybody in that neck of the woods knows from his time at LSU.

 

Still interesting and relevant, but it's not Vegas psychics or guys "connected". Seems more like rumor mill and self fulfilling confirmation bias i majorly driving this.

This just isn't true. Sure Josh can and does do that, but that's an emotional response and not a logical one. Not even saying he's king of, but this isn't a fair or thought out assessment. Was only a year ago to go back and be able to remember this

Ben Johnson is not going to Chicago. The guy is the most-coveted HC new candidate in years & will have numerous offers. He's not going to choose a dysfunctional organization/owner like the Bears, and he isn't going to stay in the Division.

 

If he ends up in Cincinnati, that'll be worst-case scenario for us.

As it stands you have the Jets, Saints and Bears. 
 

Let’s say it’s just those 3, the Bears are by far the better option. A load of talent and potential that’s all on contract for a few years. 
 

The Jets are more dysfunctional from an organization standpoint than Chicago. 
 

The Saints are a mess. No money. Aging roster on massive deals that are hard to get out of and on top of that ownership is in limbo if, god forbid, Benson passes away. 
 

 

So that leaves alternative options to replace?
 

McCarthy and the Cowboys?

Antonio Pierce and the Raiders?

 

Daboll and the Giants?

 

Pederson and the Jaguars?

 

 

If Cincinnati part ways with Zac Taylor that would be the consensus choice for him I’m sure.

We have a strong offensive line,  Shakir is a top WR, so is Cooper.

We have 3 talented RB's and 2 talented TE's.

What else do you want? What else do we need?

Great hypothetical!

 

The job you would think, if they were smart, goes to Ben Johnson but lets say he chooses a HC anywhere else then I’d bet if Brady is fielding interviews that he at least gets a call due to the connection you referenced. 
 

Would Chase and Burrow pound the table for him to join there even over Ben Johnson is an interesting question in itself.
