Is this the best team in the Allen era?

I think we're an extremely balanced offense and Allen seems to be more mature in his play. The D seems to be doing enough to give that O more than a chance to win games. I am loving what the O line is becoming. However, we've had better teams over the last 4/5 years.

I still think the D line will get found out and be left wanting again. The only true SB level unit on the is the CBs - Johnson, Douglas and Benford. Rapp and Hamlin are mediocre. I'd be more confident if Milano and Bernard were ever fit to play at the same time but it never seems to happen.

The record so far is a damn sight better than what I was expecting this year and we'll win the division fairly comfortably. However, I'm not expecting a deep play off run and wouldn't be too shocked if it was a one and done situation this year.

In conclusion, I like the record at this point but not sold on the team for the rest of the year. And looking at the cap/dead money and injury situations this year I'm fine with that. As long as it's just this year.

Spring/Summer 2025 will be HUGE for the organisation.

Honestly I think we are seeing the best Allen of the Allen era.... not Stat wise much but now he appears to have matured greatly and maintains his physical dominance.

Team wise probably say the 2 years we lost to  KC in the playoffs the team as a whole might of been better, and coaching, arguably takes much blame.

I believe this team is too weak on the DL outside of Groot not much cream rising to the top. Hopefully Miller returns to form on QB pressures down the stretch. We have to get tougher againt the run. Hamlin is a great backup, but everyone knows we can do better there. Also lots of new receivers in the mix but potential of this offense is top notch

I apologize really haven't  read the thread, just my 2 cents

No, if anything, this is the least talented team they have fielded since Allen’s second year.  The difference now is Allen being protective of the ball, and extremely weak competition.  They have been mauled by the Ravens and lost to a depleted Texans team.  Every other win is against trash.  The most “impressive” victory is between the 2 win Dolphins or the NFC West where breaking .500 is looking like a shot to win the division.   Don’t let poor competition fool your eyes.  This team has struggled mightily against even the lowly Phins, in Buffalo.  They have put a whooping on pretenders and struggled against everyone else.

Injuries have played a part, but overall, the talent level of this team is Titans level outside of Alllen.

I have to agree with the DL sentiment. Seems like they are getting blown off the line on run plays and not stacking up the offensive linemen nearly enough to allow our lbs and S to make tackles closer to the line of scrimmage.

It is kinda hard to tell just how good they are. At home they do look amazing at times.

The schedule has been weak though. The best win is what? Miami at 2-6?

This stretch coming up: Chiefs, Niners, Rams and Lions will be a good indication

It might be. The team seems to be much better focused on a week to week basis. Sure they aren't always hitting on all cylinders but no team really does that every single game. The Chiefs barely have done it at all this year.

I think this rookie class has been a breath of fresh air and they have been playing key roles in big games.

No. They are solid but too much inexperience, too much dead cap space. This is one of the weakest squads we've had since Josh 'arrived'.

It's been a successful reset/reload so far to be sure. They are still one of the better teams despite the big roster purge. I'd have trouble putting them higher than 3rd in the AFC at best though.

Doesn't mean they can't get it done this year. Stranger things have happened. I have higher expectations for '25 and '26 though.

I think this is a fair and simple question, I immediately thought of 2020 , which is the obvious choice but we didn't have close to the OL and run game back then.

This team just put up 30 without WR1 and CB1 against the top offense last year.

Don't see any reason we can't win out , obstacles happen,  injuries happen but I see the most complete team I've seen in the Allen era imo

Just curious of the families thoughts of  why or why not they are or aren't

GO BILLS

The 2020 and 2021 teams have been the 2 best of the Allen Era so far to this point. I do think this team is better than the 2022 and 2023 teams so far. But the 2020 team especially reminds me of the current Lions team minus the run game. Just the total team domination every week was different that any if the other Allen Era teams

no.

i really thought 2022 was it and that team was poised to be an all time great squad.  The came out and popped the Rams, then crushed the Titans.  Lost the flukey sun-stroke game at Miami, and then beat Baltimore, KC, the Steelers, and GB and were 6-1.

They ran into some crazy luck with injuries, weather, and the damar thing.  That Jets game where Allen was allegedly hurt, and that really flukey Vikings loss also were tough.

They were 13-3 and lost the 3 games by a combined 8 points.  They really *should have won 2 of them, and were a Gabe Davis catch/drop from winning the other one vs the Jets.
