NBC would definitely have taken that if it was available. Agreed, Bills - Chiefs probably CBS’ top game of the season, with Romo/Nance on the call for sure. Looking ahead to the rest of the season, looks doubtful we’d have any other games flexed into SNF either. There’s either a good matchup there already, or we’re playing a crappy opponent. Only chance seems like when we host the Jests in Week 17 (it’s current MIA v CLE), and that’d be if the Jests went on a huge run so the game meant something for them, and the league didn’t want to flex GB v Min instead. Edit: Bleeding Bills pointed out there’s a bunch of other Week 17 options, so pretty much no chance we get flexed to SNF anywhere else. Edited November 4 by strive_for_five_guy 1 1 Quote

I am surprised NBC didn't take the Steelers - Ravens game instead of the Bengals - Chargers. Unless CBS can protect more than one game. Quote

PonyBoy Posted November 4 Posted November 4 But there was talk of the playoff push by the Jets with that big win the other night??? Well... They'll just have to flex it back 😀 2 Quote

It would also make 3 SNF games for each team, which seems excessive for a specific time-slot. 18 games all season and you'd have 5 games with either the Bills or Chiefs playing in it. Buffalo is also hosting SNF 2 weeks later, which would mean collinsworth in buffalo 2 weeks out of 3. Steelers play on the road TNF week 12, so it doesn't seem likely that they play the 2nd to last game one week, and the earliest game the next week. 1 Quote
Buffalo03 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I looked at this earlier. I thought it would be Ravens Steelers. This game surprised me Quote
SoCal Deek Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Wait! The Bills are still playing the Chiefs? Even without Big Game Gabe? No way! Not happening! Quote

shane nelson Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I recall reading that the late Sunday afternoon game is still considered "the big NFL show of the week" drawing the most viewers. As a result it is not moved that often. Quote

This game surprised me Steelers-Ravens cannot be flexed, per the new rules. The main network for that conference (CBS in this case) must carry at least one home-and-home game of a divisional match up. The other Steelers-Ravens game is on FOX. The flex also means the huge LA area now can show the Bills-Chiefs instead of the planned Chargers game. The entire country now gets Bills-Chiefs in the late slot.
