Maybe it’s because they’re playing with house money so to speak - they’ve been so damn dominant.  I was a ND fan when they got smoked in the National Championship game by Alabama.  Alabama fans could not have been nicer.  Ended up drinking and partying with a ton of them that night.

Cooper not catching passes is a big concern, obviously... I worry Mack Hollins will be our #1 outside WR against Indy.

Seems like we avoided a big injury to Coleman. Benford trending in the right direction but not sensing Cooper will play this week against Indy. Doubtful Coleman plays as well.

When I was running the numbers, I felt the Bills could pretty much build the exact same stadium as Lucas Oil (with the roof!) for what they are paying for their new stadium.

I’ll report back. And since this is my third trip since quitting drinking, I’ll remember it!

If LT Raimann (concussion) can't go Sunday, the Colts will be starting 3 rookies on the OL.

I’m sure there’s more to it than this… but the way I see it… both Coleman and Cooper have wrist/hand concerns.  So they can run fine.    We keep trotting #1 and #89 out there every week and neither does more than run around and make sure we have 11 people on the field.   Why not let Coleman and Cooper be those that run around and don’t catch any passes?  At least the defense thinks they might.  If I’m on the defense and #89 goes in the game, why would you think he’s a viable receiving option on the play?  He’s clearly there just to go in motion and run around.   I’d be stacking the box and doubling the other WR every time.

Jet sweeps are why you cant just stack the box?  But i like your idea of coleman or cooper can do that as well as be a receiving option.

In order to play snaps at WR in the NFL, you have to be able to run block and get off the press. Both of those things require use of the hands/wrist, and neither would be possible for a player with an injured wrist to do successfully. That means that having such a player on the field during run plays would be detrimental to the success of said plays, and having them run routes wouldn't fool the defense for very long if they weren't able to do the hand-fighting necessary of running routes.

I get what you're saying, but in practical terms, the requirements of the WR position would not allow a player with an injured wrist to contribute to the offense's success in any meaningful way.

This is not your father's NFL any more. Ask a player with an obvious injury to play with a real possibility of worsen the injury? NFLPA and lawyers will be all over the case.
