I’ll be there with 19 of my closest friends. We do an away game every year and this year it’s Indy. Hoping for a relaxing blowout. Bills 85, colts 1.

I will be curious to get your thoughts on the stadium.

When I was running the numbers, I felt the Bills could pretty much build the exact same stadium as Lucas Oil (with the roof!) for what they are paying for their new stadium.

Others have the same concerns as I do, this is not the game for the usual McDermott "sit back and let them make a mistake" game plan.  Flacco can figure out a soft zone coverage.  We need to put one or two more in the box than we often do, and pressure them on passing downs.  I have little faith in our blitz (seems like Milano was the only one who could get through consistently) but maybe this week Flacco gives you long enough to get there.  Maybe Jordan Phillips will take advantage of their backup center in his one healthy game of the season!  What's the line on his number of sacks?  😁

I thought last week Flacco looked like the old and ineffective QB with the Jets and Broncos.  Maybe age is finally catching up.  Last week people were lamenting that the Bills won't have the "easier" game with Anthony Richardson.  Maybe in the end, the Bills catch a break by playing the more immobile Flacco.

Wild that they've only played 5 times in the regular season this century.

The Bills were never 1st place in AFC East during that period whereas the Colts were mostly AFC South champions (with Manning).   Hence, they got to play only once every three years during the inter-division games.

Not so sure on that. Flacco has been very accurate and throwing hard. So he finds his WR and hits him. He had his team within 3 points of winning in the last 2 games. They have had some bad fumbles and penalties kill them. This is a BIG game for the Colts to go to 500 and get back into the hunt. I think we are the better team so we should win but this is tougher than Miami IMO and by a lot. The Colts D line is good. We need to pass on them as their secondary is weak/young.

I don’t know man, we were up 31-3 early in the 4th quarter against the Seahawks two weeks ago.  Beat TN 34-10 even after the slow start.

If Geno doesn't trip himself (again turnover on downs) much closer game, certainly at the start. Tennessee is just awful yet they led at halftime and it was 17-10 after 3 quarters (which could have easily been the same score as the Seattle game). This isn't the 2021 Bills, we play with our food, we haven't come in and overwhelmed anybody. The Miami away game was about as close as we have seen in that spot and it was turnover city and a few big plays from Josh. Which if that occurs, sure, we can force some turnovers.

If we are playing the "if" game....if Amari Cooper doesn't slip then that play never happens.

Also, you can't guarantee that Geno not slipping means they score a TD there.

The one thing we know for sure is we were up 31-3 by the start of the 4th quarter and beat TN 34-10.

And we have overwhelmed some teams.

Miami week 2 and the Jags week 3.

That is him.  With a good run game and arm he will throw it deep.  Thats really it.  You sell out to stop the run he will make you pay.

Bills / Indianapolis Colts Record (before that they were the Baltimore Colts)

The game in 2018 was one of the worst Bills games I have ever watched and I lived through the Hank Bullough years! Derek Anderson was abysmal!!

The Bills are ranked higher in scoring offense, scoring defense, and have the vastly superior quarterback.

Then again, a team with a high quality running back, pretty good defense, and savvy veteran quarterback is exactly the type to give the Bills unexpected trouble, especially on the road and sandwiched between a division rival and the Chiefs.

This is a TCB game. Take Care of Business, no matter how ugly. It won't surprise me if the Bills win by three scores, and it won't surprise me if they win by three points. Just win and escape, and go into the Chiefs game 8-2 for the first time since 1992.

if they are healthy, Raimann and Q. Nelson are both good players, and along with having to account for Taylor will probably neutralize Von and Ed, That likely will give Flacco the time he needs to throw.

I said before that this is actually one of the things the Bills of this year improved overall: turnovers. Turnover is the biggest factor swinging a game beyond general level of teams. So far the Bills, particularly Josh Allen who admitted that making the right decision being his off-season focus this past off-season, look to be right on track in having the lowest turnover in years. Injury is another unpredictable factor and the Bills are kind of middle of the road in that regard. So overall, no turnovers + no critical injuries means better team wins in general. I expect the trend to continue this Sunday even though the result may be too close for comfort.

As Mack Hollins stated - the only thing that matters is the final score is one more for the bills

I think Flacco is a tougher matchup then Richardson. He (Richardson) only seems to have a deep ball, which our defense is well designed to take away. That said, as others have said it shouldn't matter. If we can't handle the Flacco-led Colts, I may want to take a break from watching the Bills play for the next month...

The Bills are a hard team to figure out. They are consistently above average as manifest by their high point differential, which seems to be a McDermott trademark during his tenure; however they are capable of really ugly losses. They remind me NBA teams that have regular season records that are higher than their actual talent level. They are usually well coached, highly disciplined and more consistent and win by out grinding their opponents, but in the playoffs when their opponents match their intensity they are just not as good as advertised. Sound familiar?

I sincerely hope I'm wrong and there is a lot of football to play (with perhaps Milano returning), but how can we feel confident about making a deep playoff run with this run Defense in January - February?

The bills and really ugly losses is kind of a head scratcher.  Its happened about two times in a few years or so.

That's the concern, no doubt.

The Bills D relies on everyone play sound, in right position, etc. In January, we are going to face opposing offenses who are capable of doing the same: sound, and executing the offense consistently well. Then a guy or two who can play above the scheme will beat us.

We are pretty much pin our hope on Milano who can occasionally rise up to the level of "above the scheme" guy and Von who has a proven tracking of doing so in the past. Among the young guys, there is a small chance Rousseau may surprise us but I'm not holding out hope because he has not done that in the past 4 years!
