I watched a few Dolphin podcasts yesterday after the game.  I thoroughly enjoyed the frustration of the Miami fans. The topic of this rivalry has been covered in this space before.  I get that but, as a fan from the early 60’s, I am not certain the younger fans on this site fully appreciate how bad the 0 - 20 seventies were.  Believe me, the Dolphins rubbed it in big time.  We’ve still not caught up.   A quick historical search shows the Bills down 62 - 60 - 1.  The ‘70 games and the Josh Allen era (flip) are so similar.  The Bills outplayed the Dolphins in several of those games, especially in the mid to late 70’s, after their big team began to age out.   Next year we even it out.  In the meantime, no football sympathy, no hoping for the underdog allowed.  They had Griese, Warfield, and Csonka. We got Josh Allen.  Go Bills.

Yeah that 60-62 includes the playoffs where the Bills are 4-1 against Miami.  Otherwise 56-61 in regular season.   The playoff wins are worth far more.   The rivalry edge belongs to the Bills right now.

Record (W-L-T): 480-503-8

Hopefully we're above 0.500 soon as well as a franchise!

49-77 versus New England is the reason for that.

I remember the DEC 1975 loss to the Fins, and have attached a link on the infamous Ref call from Jerry Bergman, Ralph Wilson's arch enemy from that point forward,

On a side note, I read that negative pass play at the end by the Dolphins was the longest negative pass play this century.  😂

Dolphins fans must feel the same way about the Bills as we did about the Patriots during our playoff drought.

They do.  But they also got owned by the Patriots during that time period.  From a Pats and Jets perspective they go from 20 years of Brady owning them to Josh Allen in his prime.

You just have to feel good about this.

And Brady and Belichek are the reason for that!

I was talking to a longtime friend of mine, who is also a Dolphins fan.

To him, they suffered through the Tom Brady/Patriots years (just like us)... only to immediately jump into the Josh Allen/Bills years.  He has slowly come to realize that having a good franchise QB like Tua just isn't enough.  It's just giving them a false sense of hope.  Because we have an all-time great and future HOF quarterback under center.  Maybe they can squeak out a win against us every 3-4 years.  But that's about it.  At least during the 90s, they always felt like Dan Marino gave them a legitimate shot to win the division and compete.

I really can't imagine what things are like for Jets fans.  They haven't really been in the conversation since Joe Namath in the 60s.

Good times.
