Another game and another 0 logged for Curtis Samuel. This was someone I had very high expectations and was on my offseason wishlist. This has to be a result of injury and not talent drop off. Unfortunately it’s so bad where he truly is unplayable. He  needs to go on IR. He is completely ineffective playing  banged up. I still believe healthy he can be an asset later in season. Time being easy replacement (anything is upgrade at this point)  K.J. Hamler.

Bring in Cooper Kupp!!

I am baffled by his lack of involvement. He’s someone who you develop plays for, screens or handoffs, but they aren’t even doing that.

I thought they would do more than that, but to not even give him screens and handoffs is very strange.

why do you want to use your highest paid WR as a gadget player.   Samuel needs to get on the same page with Josh Allen on vertical routes.

I think had we not sat Cooper for this game, they probably would have given Samuel another week honestly.

It's in large part the toe. We really should have just shut him down to start the season. But our core was so tough to begin with, we really couldn't.

I also think he and Josh for whatever reason just don't have chemistry. I feel like if Josh really liked what they were doing together in practice, he'd look in his direction once in a while. He doesn't seem to have trust in him. Could be he knows he's hurt. But the total lack of targeting him at all speaks volumes.

I think Samuels was targeted once yesterday, he was not where Josh threw the ball, not on the same page.

Do we have a snap count on Curtis?  He is invisible.  Place Curtis on IR - we get about the same usage, so not a bad idea.  Add another WR and DT.  Von was ineffective again.

DT is killing Bills D. I’m ***** sick of not being able to stop the run.  I’m talking to you DaQuan and Ed.   I’m ok with trading for Simmons or another DT.  Our first two picks should be DT and WR.  So I don’t mind giving up a one if we get a premium DT like Simmons

averages in the mid 30% range for snaps not including the games he didn’t play.  Haven’t seen any numbers from yesterday’s game yet though.

We aren’t even using him as a gadget player. McKenzie was way better when he was here, and he’s a free agent!

If it’s an injury just shut him down for a while and see if he can come back for the last couple games before the playoffs.

Our playbook is ever evolving as up until last week we didn't see Shakir get many screens either yet the last two weeks we've seen it and us taking full advantage of his RAC ability.

I think there is a lot more going on with Samuel than meets the eye.   I don't know if it's the injury, an inability to understand the offense or what but the bottom line is the guy can't catch passes thay aren't thrown to him

There were times he was split wide to one side of the field and they went 2 or 3 wide to the opposite side of the field.  When Josh took his progressions his head didn't even make it to Samuel's side of the field.

Kind of a tough situation to be in because he makes 9 million next year and it includes nearly 8 million in dead money if they release him.

My take: turf toe is a really crappy injury to have to deal with. I'm guessing that it's really limiting him.

I think the entire Samuel thing is being mismanaged.  Either he is injured with a nagging injury (turf toe) that only gets better by rest, so rest him until after the bye week; or (2) he is not a fit for this offense, and should be traded.

Samuel is quickly becoming the offensive version of Elam.

If it’s that bad he shouldn’t be out there though, right?

I just don't know. Maybe playing with it doesn't aggravate it but simply hampers you? I don't know the diagnosis.

I don’t really see that comp.

Elam doesn’t play because he has 2 studs ahead of him.  And when he does play, he doesn’t suck.

Samuel rarely plays because he is a black hole of nothingness.  Pretty much every attempt to get him the ball as a first option has been a net zero.  He should be wearing 0 rather than Coleman. This all could be a result of his injury. Another factor in his nothingness is likely Brady’s inability to incorporate Samuel with Shakir on the field.

🤷🏻‍♂️ but it’s puzzling -  I’m hoping it’s the injury and he’ll be able to be a contributor come playoffs.  Not holding my breath though

Seems like he was replaced by coleman and hollins when he was injured, then lost even more chance at outside snaps from the addition of Cooper.  Coleman potentially missing some time could open up a chance for some more conventional plays, but they seem to just have him currently in a rotation with shakir, knox, and kincaid - shakirs playing really well, kincaid is an integral piece, and knox gets dirty in the run game.

They're even using shakir in that deep motion play instead of samuel now.  And i don't blame them, shakir has been fantastic this year.

it’s okay to point out glaring flaws with the team.  Especially with an eye to the postseason where we’re going to be facing much stiffer competition than ::checks notes:: the Dolphins.

THIS IS 100% A FOREWARD THINKING, POST SEASON THOUGHT. IDC if we have to IR him 4 weeks and certainly mind less with someone like Hamler who is very worthy of PS call up.

We can have dude gimp around the back half of a season, never getting anything outta him, or shut him down and attempt to salvage something.  Obviously we should've shut him down already, we have a huge lead in the division, and him sitting is certainly not changing the outcomes of our games.  Sit him, rehab him, let him get healthy.  Its really an easy calll

Josh is throwing to his 1st read less than any QB in the NFL.

I don't know, the injury is the most convenient rationale but it doesn't really appear to be affecting him. I think he just hasn't been very good in practice which means he hasn't earned a bigger role... Early OTA/training camp reports were that he wasn't getting involved much. There were only a couple days where I remember his name coming up as a bright spot in training camp.

My best guess is that for whatever reason he hasn't been able to grasp the playbook. It doesn't make much sense considering he played in Brady's offense before, but that's usually the reason when an otherwise talented player is treated as barely an afterthought. He was on the field a decent amount yesterday, Josh just never looked at him. The one time he did, Samuel was not in the spot where the ball ended up landing. So I think he just is not in the trust tree right now.

Ravens lost to browns and raiders!

We are not built to stop a running team and will simply get run over....again.

There are teams we match up decently against, the Ravens are not one of them.
