I wish this organization would be a little more forthright and just come out and say his turf toe is affecting his ability. Just put him on IR for a month, let the toe heal some and move forward. 3 Quote

I want to see Samuel on some crossers exploiting a LB or more vertical routes. or how about those quick slants that Josh was throwing to Coleman. Samuel should be able to use his speed to get open on that. He seems washed.  I don't have an explanation for Samuel's ineffectiveness but based on the video of his highlights from last year, I highly doubt he's washed.  The 2023 video shows an obviously athletic player with explosive burst.  On 11/4/2024 at 3:40 AM, Pete said: Do we have a snap count on Curtis?  He is invisible.  Place Curtis on IR - we get about the same usage, so not a bad idea.  Add another WR and DT.  Von was ineffective again.  DT is killing Bills D. I’m ***** sick of not being able to stop the run.  I’m talking to you DaQuan and Ed.  I’m ok with trading for Simmons or another DT.  Our first two picks should be DT and WR.  So I don’t mind giving up a one if we get a premium DT like Simmons  This is one of my bookmarks. It comes in handy for fantasy when I'm trying to figure out who's getting playing time:  https://www.footballguys.com/stats/snap-counts/teams?team=BUF&year=2024  12 hours ago, blacklabel said: I maintain that Samuel is just nowhere near 100% right now. He'd be way more involved if he was fully healthy. I think the toe is probably still causing some issues, hard to run, cut, and plant with that type of injury.  I hope he can heal up and be more of a factor down the stretch.  To the bolded, I hope so too. There are still 8 games left which is 47% of the season.  It's not by any means beyond the realm of possibility that Samuel can make a substantial or at least some timely contributions.  I don't mind raising the question about his performance but again in this topic are a lot of people wanting to make final judgements when the season is only at the halfway point.  Quote

The explanation is he has an injury. If you can’t push off of your foot the way you want how explosive can you really be? Quote

On thing I keep thinking is that as a new addition to the offense in the off-season, his acclimation was hampered by the toe injury that he STILL may not be fully healed. My observation is that he is simply not getting many looks from Josh in this offense, which makes me wonder if the missed time in the preseason and lingering affects into the regular season has hampered their ability to develop chemistry and get on the same page. 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I’m convinced the only reason he wasn’t released yesterday is we don’t have enough bodies, and McD and Brady must not think of Shavers and crew.  its sad as I had hoped for Samuel, but now its crazy to think I’d rather have Hollins on the field which isn’t saying much. Â If he isnt the motion player and matchup player in the offense he wont have a consistent role. Â Coleman, Cooper, Hollins are outside and Shakir is the slot. Â Early down runs are working so more 12 and 13 sets are working which he isn't a part of. Â Thats really it. Â Some of his chances he hasn't been able to take advantage of. Samuel is as a good a wr 4 or 5 in the league. Â If he can get closer to 100% he will be a factor down the stretch. Â Edited November 6 by Mat68 1 Quote
fergie's ire Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I became worried when I learned he was out with turf toe LAST year. Sounds like, instead of being a new injury, it may have just been a case where the toe never healed. Some players get bad turf toe that they never seem to recover from. I worry that a player like Samuel who relies so much on quickness and abrupt cuts might never be right again.
