Another game and another 0 logged for Curtis Samuel. This was someone I had very high expectations and was on my offseason wishlist. This has to be a result of injury and not talent drop off. Unfortunately it’s so bad where he truly is unplayable. He  needs to go on IR. He is completely ineffective playing  banged up. I still believe healthy he can be an asset later in season. Time being easy replacement (anything is upgrade at this point)  K.J. Hamler.

I’m thrilled!! 7-2 and running away with division! This isn’t a bash Samuel thread,  as noted I think it’s all related to injury. I’m just thinking ahead with Coleman going down (hope not long) and Copper out today just need someone else to get a some separation and make a play. Hamler isn’t going to come in and crush it but would have to think he adds more value than a banged up Samuel.

I don't think I saw him on the field until Coleman got hurt.  Seems we were opting for "semi-heavy"; often Knox & Kincaid w/ a lot of Hollis, Coleman w/ of Virgil & Shakir mixed in.  Though as the gameplan seemed to be a bunch of short sh!t passes, that seems to be where we like to throw to him.

He's sort of a similar player and it's a fair question, imo.

I think had we not sat Cooper for this game, they probably would have given Samuel another week honestly.

It's in large part the toe. We really should have just shut him down to start the season. But our core was so tough to begin with, we really couldn't.

I also think he and Josh for whatever reason just don't have chemistry. I feel like if Josh really liked what they were doing together in practice, he'd look in his direction once in a while. He doesn't seem to have trust in him. Could be he knows he's hurt. But the total lack of targeting him at all speaks volumes.

I was also expecting him to have much bigger role in this offense with his experience. Not sure what is going on we will need him even more now with Keon possibly out.

Hamler not even been elevated as guys like Shivers and Virgil have. I think Hamler at best is a kick return backup but that kid we drafted from PSU might be ahead of him.

I don’t think it’s negative just to wonder what exactly is going on with him.  It’s pretty unusual to have him out there if he has some undisclosed injury ; that just doesn’t make sense to me. I mean it’s past the half way point and he has really not been any type of threat , or even productive in any sense this year. It’s is very strange after watching him be very productive before coming here.

Obviously they expected more with his contract.  He and Josh just have no chemistry ; Josh didn’t even look at him today imo.   He has fallen off a cliff , heck even Diggs at his worst produced more.   Just really an odd situation , and I don’t know what “ injury” would persist , go unreported , and he still be getting snaps.  Either it’s Brady misusing him , or he has hit some wall mentally or physically.  I really thought he would be very good , but so far he’s a mystery.

I suggested two weeks ago to put him on IR and bring him back after the bye week. Let him heal up and get right.

I posted in another thread, I don’t know if it’s Brady or Samuel. Everything to him has been horizontal vs utilizing him with crossers and vertical. Whatever it is, it needs addressed.

it’s okay to point out glaring flaws with the team.  Especially with an eye to the postseason where we’re going to be facing much stiffer competition than ::checks notes:: the Dolphins.

at this point, I am not even sure it is injury related. He seems washed.

It was a great win. Thrilling and completely not Billsy.

I don't believe I have seen anything from the team this year that allows them to beat Baltimore and likely KC (if they figure anything out on offense). We have largely won the games we should win. Lost the ones in which we wanted to find out more about how good we are. Nobody really looks good this year outside of maybe Baltimore and Detroit, so perhaps style points are not something we should care about but this team doesn't historically ascend come playoff time. We have room to grow still and wins vs either KC or Detroit would do a lot to quiet what I'm saying.

The played the Raiders week 2 half asleep off the KC game and a Browns team that was a bad match up for them and really anybody in the NFL if Winston is hot as he was in that game. They have beat multiple playoff contenders at this point, including Buffalo. They're way ahead of us at this time and if you think that isn't accurate then we are far away enough in what we are seeing that it's not worth discussing further.
