So it's not enough to say "we got caught by one bad matchup." Our coaches need to figure out how to stop this style of offense from picking up chunk play after chunk play, or it will be another early playoff exit. That or our offense needs to start putting up 30+ against every good opponent and just win a bunch of shootouts. I have said one possible solution is playing more man. All those plays where leaking RBs and TEs get wide open in the flats would be defended better if someone was specifically responsible for those players. Watch the Chiefs - they play a lot of man and they're willing to blitz in unpredictable ways. 3 1 1 Quote
DapperCam Posted November 4 Posted November 4 We lack talent. Coaches try to hide the lack of talent with an extreme bend but don’t break scheme. Didn’t work out today, especially in the 2nd half. Quote
gobills404 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 What’s up is they’re still a top 10 defense, but some of y’all have become spoiled from watching an elite defense each of the last 3 years. 56 minutes ago, Success said: This is about as bad a defense as I've seen since Allen got here. They’re objectively better than the 2018 and 2020 defenses. 1 1 1 Quote

They need to mix in more run blitzes and pressures, because in my opinion it's way too passive and predictable agreed. I actually think the game plan worked like it was supposed to. Hill really only beat us deep once. Waddle was MIA. You force them to run and keep everything short, and play for a timely stop or turnover. Miami just didn’t make that many mistakes. Tua was basically flawless. 1 Quote

The problem was that while we dared them to run, we also allowed 8-12 yards whenever they ran it. 1 Quote

Another classic where Josh does something legendary (that TD toss to Morris) to take a 7 point lead late in the game... and somehow Josh ends up having to get the Bills in FG territory with under 2 min to go. Chalk one up for McD's phenomenal regular season record (won by Josh despite the coaching). I was rooting for the Dolphins to score a TD as quickly as possible on that last drive and let out a cheer when they did with over 1:30 left on the clock. I had no illusions that we could stop them. McDermott's defense got so badly stomped it actually circled back around to giving us an advantage at the end 😂 1 3 Quote

I just wish the bills were a little more aggressive on 1st down with their run blitzes as it was so obvious Miami was gonna run 1 Quote

colin Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Our d is a one note band. By design we suck vs the run, injuries don't help either. There is a lot of pressure on our little lbs and safeties to run up and tackle runners and short passes, and they absolutely suck at that this season. The real death knell is when a QB can make quick accurate throws. Tua just murdered us all day. Getting healthy will help, but this scheme is perfect for beating bad os and playing hard while allowing lots and lots of success vs good QBs. Quote
Brand J Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Couldn’t stop the run, couldn’t stop the pass. Dolphins did pretty much what they wanted to at will. Other than that, the defense was okay. 1 Quote

It didnt today, for whatever reason, and McD/Babich didnt have answers for Miami's adjustments. That's my bigger concern. 1 Quote

For the most part I'm good with keeping everything in front of you against Miami. But I would have guessed run on some 1st downs and try to get them behind the sticks, especially after the 1st half when Miami showed they were committed to running Quote
JMM Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Ed gets manhandled at times. The bigger issue is Daquan, it's like he absolutely hit the career wall. He went from dominant before his injury last year to a liability this year. Quote

I felt great when Miami got to midfield in just two plays, but started getting nervous when we started mixing in a few successful plays against them. It sounds insane out loud but that's genuinely how I felt in the moment. Luckily the timing ended up working out perfectly. 8 minutes ago, Simon said: Bet it's not the first time you've done that. In the 13 seconds game I remember feeling relived that Tyreek Hill had scored his final TD in one big play, because it meant Allen had just enough time to drive for the game winner with no time remaining. Ugh... Edited November 4 by HappyDays Quote
