Bills need to find a new 1T in the off season, hopefully the draft. Agree with the first point, as Carter looks very good for a rookie. But I hope you are wrong that they won't resolve this clear problem now. At least to some degree. Who knows what happens next year as far as the overall quality of the team. We can expect it be very good, again, but you never know. One injury can wreck a team. We see what we have now, the progression, the quality, and the potential. To me, it is all about now, this year. Don't mortgage the future, but explore every possibility to make the team better, to eliminate weaknesses. Now. Quote
SoCal Deek Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The Bills have a defensive line loaded with First Round draft picks. It’d be really nice if this thread wasn’t necessary. Quote

Lol And some people forgot that we didn’t have Taron or Bernard, lost Rapp to a concussion early AND played a light box the entire game. If we play Baltimore in the playoffs, I believe that we’d play a heavier box. We would have to. I don't know how they possibly could stick with the light box because you know Baltimore would be looking to establish the run game from the very first play. 1 1 Quote

The idea of Joseph last year was with Jones down to add some beef at 1T. Is it just me or has DaQuan Jones been a shell of himself this year? Last year before he went down he might have been the best player on our defense...this year I have barely even noticed him. 1 1 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted November 4 Posted November 4 This game might have been a blessing in disguise maybe a bigger lineabacker or DT. Rewatching the game Ed Oliver and Daquan were getting abused out there on misdirections and screens. I think the secondary is fine until that last TD to Waddle they did a pretty decent job. 1 Quote

Although I generally agree with the Don't mortgage the future mantra....if they have any remote possibility to bring in Myles Garrett then you sell the farm to bring him in. That's the type of ballsy move that can put a team over the hump to being a true Super Bowl contender 1 1 1 Quote

That's the type of ballsy move that can put a team over the hump to being a true Super Bowl contender Yes, I agree--as they will not be able to get a player like Garret in the draft where they pick unless they get lucky. Ditto for free agents. They have not gotten lucky so far and cannot keep rolling the dice. A player like Garrett, but preferably younger, but I would take Garrett, for some significant draft capital is something I agree with. I never thought that Miller was that guy, and that is why I disliked that move so much. Huge money for an (old) guy who was never ever going to be that player the Bills most need. Time for this to happen. A big move. It will also show Allen and the team that it is happening THIS year, now. And will motivate this team even more. We will know soon. Two days!! 2 Quote

They must shore up their run defense and at the same time get more pressure on quarterbacks to be a true contender. Do you agree that this is not a luxury item, but a need? And who is a likely target? Is it a defensive tackle or end? The time is now, I think. Joe Andreessen. 1 Quote

stlbills13 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Darius Slayton and whatever the Giants have on their DL. It's not sexy but it's solid. Quote

How much do you know about Azeez Ojulari? Giants, and likely Daboll, are done now, so a fire sale is likely these next two days, to some degree. What is this guy good at? Mainly as a pass rusher or is there even more there? Not big, so I assume it is more as a pass rusher, which is fine by me--almost zero pressure on Tua and so he ate them up. Mahomes, Stafford, and Goff coming soon... and then some of those maybe again.. Ojulari seems to have gotten a good amount of pressure in a limited roll. And is 24. Seems like one of the most likely Beane targets, especially since it is the Giants. Quote

They just didn't want to get beat over the top. Few other teams have the wide receivers to beat them deep. Tua and Miami are a special case. You can't pass rush because the ball gets out so quick and their speed can kill you. When they play Baltimore again they will be healthier. They can also play some 4-3 with Spector. Carter will be back in a few weeks. If they make a trade get a pass rusher because AJE and Miller are terrible. Add to that with Benford being out, made them more worried about the pass. Quote

BuffaloRebound Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Go big. Offer a 1st for Dexter Lawrence. If Giants hang up on you, offer the Titans a 2nd rounder for Simmons. Quote
Billz4ever Posted November 4 Posted November 4 1 hour ago, GunnerBill said: Yea he has. The wall comes quick for big guys. It hit for Jones. So unfortunate. Before he went down in the Jaguar game in London last year, he was playing at an extremely high level. Dare I say one of the best DTs in the league up to that point. His absence was immediately felt, and he just never was quite the same after coming back. 1 Quote

Heck yeah on Lawrence. But why in the world would any team get rid of him for only a first rounder? Would take two first rounders, and a good player or two or three, in all likelihood, as he is 6' 4' and 340 pounds--and 26. That is if the Giants are silly enough to part with such a rising and complete player. They need some good players to lure in a high quality head coach in the off season. But he may be my first choice because of his size, age, production, and potential. The missing link for the Bills, could make them the new dominant team in the AFC--and NFL. Quote

He has three sacks yesterday. I'd give up two first rounders for him. Realistically those are going to be 30-32 the next two years anyways. Think of the last three first rounders. None of them are even close to what Myles would bring. Garrett would be way better over the next five years than a 4th string CB, an ok TE, and WR that drops a TD pass into the arms of the DB. 2 Quote
