The decision to go for the FG - right or wrong?

He made the kick, amazing moment....but was it the right decision?  Be honest, how many of you were holding your palms up saying what is he doing?   If he misses that kick, I think he pitchforks are in McDermott more than they are now.  I used to play poker and the whole with with that game which has a luck factor is you have to evaluate your decision at the time you make the decision, the outcome or what might have come if the rabbit camera picked up your one outer is irrelevant.   

 

If he misses that kick, Miami has 5 seconds and a timeout from the Bills 49, which is a 66 yard kick, could they have gotten 5 yards and their own look at a 61 yarder?  I think they could have.  Curious what others thoughts are on this topic, I know a bunch will not want to engage because he made it.  The people who second guess every outcome that goes the wrong way seem to be silent on almost every decision that that has a positive outcome for the Bills.

At the end of the day Bass is a pro, a vet, and we pay him a lot for a kicker. You send him out to live or die. If not you should have already cut him.

i think the play before was designed to take time off the clock and would allow Kincaid to get out of bounds or leave it up to bass 

should they punted to go to OT is that what your asking ?

As bad as Bass has been, i had no problem going for the FG......at worst, he misses it and we're probably going to OT and considering how bad our D played today, we were probably pretty lucky to even get to OT.

That throw to Kincaid is a possible TD if Josh is a bit better with it.

I was scared 💯 but the only choice was to kick it.   Great decision imo

Never considered not kicking it.  If there were more than 10 seconds, maybe not.

It would have only left them with 1 play from midfield so it was the right choice.  With more time on the clock you punt.  For once McDermott made a good call managing the clock.

It’s a very interesting subject indeed. That and the long throw to Coleman both low percentage plays. Today it worked out… thank goodness.

Its much like the Texans game. If it works, McDermott looks smart. If he misses the kick, the Dolphins get the ball on the Bills 49 and who knows what can happen after that.

What is the probability of him hitting it, probability of a block?  You dont always  put a kicker out there, what if it was 71 yards?

I think they said 3/6 50 plus....its not just short kicks he misses.   People would not blame bass, they would blame McDermott and still want to waive Bass.,

It was the right decision to kick. And I'd have said that even if he missed, the Dolphins got 5 yards and a time out or OoB and kicked a 61 yarder.

You have to call timeout now before the kick.  But if he kicked it and it went through that would have been a helluva call.
