Hopefully it's nothing more than a bone bruise.

I've had baseballs cause bone bruises twice.  Tibia/shin bone.  Foot turns purplish black from all the loose blood settling with gravity.  Anyhow, those take weeks to heal and hurt quit a lot.  Like a hairline fracture pain.  Not fun.  Course, nfl locker rooms have meds unavailable to me.  Heh

Thanks for posting.  Love this news.

While I somewhat overlooked his addition this offseason based on his play last year (returning from injury) I’ve been very happy with his play.  While Beane hasn’t been associated with good offseason FA signings (and rightly so, especially on the DL), Smoot has been a stellar signing imo. Paying him nothing and he’s been pretty dam good.

The Mack Hollins signing has also been excellent.  He gets hate and has had a couple 🤦🏻‍♂️ plays, but he’s a leader and he makes plays. 4th and goal TD and making the only 2 catches on the clinching drive.  Add in his plus blocking skills, he plays his role well.  Some say he wouldn’t make an impact. They were wrong.

One could argue the Rapp signing is a good one. I wasn’t a fan of the price and length of his contract at first, but he might well be worth it.  Just have to hope he can coexist with Cole as starting S’s.

At Casey Middle School we had a gym teacher who used to punt at least briefly in the NFL (Chargers?). When he finally got to show off, he picked me to go field the punt. It was one of those cheap plastic Voit footballs than was harder than a cinder block. I caught it, but the point of the ball hit me on the base of my right thumb.  For many months I’d be close to fainting if I bumped it on anything.  That HURT! I never bothered to ask for X-rays, so I guess I’ll never know. But I had a confirmed small fracture of my fibula in high school football that hurt far less.

A retired pediatric neuro-radiologist (a very smart guy) once explained that on a 1-10 scale, a bad bruise is like a 5, and a small fracture is right next to it at 6 or less. It’s a spectrum.

Assuming the injury happened on the hit and not the subsequent fall, why are we worried it is a ligament?  Did the hit bend his wrist in an awkward way?

Unless I am missing something, this is a blunt force injury and the joint was never forced into an awkward position, so it is more likely a break or bruise...not seeing how a ligament injury is even possible.

My uninformed hunch is we're looking at 2-3 weeks out for Coleman (not too bad, all things considered, and good timing with the Bye week).

Profootball doc is saying on X that next week is very much in doubt for Kincaid. Not a long-term injury, but seems likely he'll miss next week, which would give him 3 weeks rest going into 49ers game.

Going to be a tough ask for the offense with no Kincaid, no Coleman and Cooper iffy....I happen to think they'll have Cooper based on Allen's comments this past week, but it's shaky

Just gotta find a way. Allen going to have to do some heavy lifting with a big dose of the run game.

If this was playoffs, I'd be very concerned.

Sometimes playing without key starters, can bring out positive aspects/prove we can win in adversity. Not what I or anyone wants, but it's the nature of the NFL.

Defense and S/T has to win us some games occasionally too.  I'd take a well rounded team over a 1 dimensional offense or defense any day of the week.

Think we have alot of positives.  Need to avoid costly penalties and making sure we cash in on big plays when given to us (we missed 2-3 today).

If Kincaid can’t go, do we elevate Zach Davidson from the PS? Kid seemed to show some stuff in preseason, catching-wise, but McBeane went with Gilliam as the veteran.

Well if this is a backwards way of load managing then I'm all for it. Cooper's wrist better be the first to heal because he and Josh need to start establishing some serious chemistry.
