HansLanda
This is a very good franchise that likely missed on a (minor) trade up for a CB. It can happen - if not likely for many teams. They will clearly be looking to add to the CB room and hopefully pay Douglas and Benford to give 4 years of breathing room. I want to see what Ingram can be aside from Dime packages, but for now lock up the starters. Elam isn't even tradable for a 6. So keep him. Who cares? Max Fischer
It's simple. He's not bad, just not good, and sits behind two great cornerbacks.

Possibly panicked after KC sniped them. He was a good college CB but unable to transition to being a zone CB which he did not play in college. He was signed for his measurables, attitude and college play. 1

You can take that kind of risk on day 3 guys if you really want. A mix of hubris/panic imo with regards to Elam 1 1 2

Same thing happens with every position in NFL. 2

On your 1st round pick?! I think history has proven that was a mistake.

Or do you just not like Beane? Or do you just have no reason for thinking this? If he isn't better than Benford or Douglas do you want him to play just because of where he was picked? As the OP says, when he plays, he plays well he is just behind very good starters. 3 1

Hoped to see him play well today Edited November 3 by 3rdand12

There’s also no guarantees in the draft. getting josh Allen has made beane and McDermott a lot of money. That’s not to say they’re poor at their job’s rather there’s probably equally talented people who are unemployed because they didn’t have a josh Allen. At least we're not living in those days anymore😎

He would be a starter on 25 other teams. Benford is playing at an All-Pro level right now and Douglas is also playing at a very high level. You can only play so many CBs. He went in today, and played VERY well.... You'd also be the first person to blame Beane (for lack of depth) once we get to play offs, have injuries, and then we have a scrub play. If Douglas/ Benford get hurt, there is literally no fall off.. I think that says everything. Edited November 3 by warrior9 1

Benford is better than him. You take multiple people at a position to find a starter. The draft is a crap shoot. I've never see someone so mad at having depth. It's kind of odd.... He went in today had zero fall off. So let me get this straight... because he was drafted ahead of Benford, you're mad Elam isn't playing at an All-Pro level because Benford is and he was drafted later? Lafromboise
Anybody thought it was weird none of the team went with him to celebrate after the recovery. Awkward. There were players that were trying to to tell him to go to the end zone for a celebration but everyone else just walked to the sideline. Benford is locking dudes down. That doesn't make Elam a bad CB. 2 1
