The guy is a mystery wrapped in a riddle  wrapped in an enigma.  Is he in the doghouse for some reason?  Yet, when he plays he plays well (other than last year against JAX in London) and he makes big plays.  Weirdest situation ever.

It's not that weird. He's playing behind two really, really good players.

I don't disagree but it is weird that he's not a regular in the dime.

Wasn’t he behind Ingram on the depth chart?

Ingram was playing 3rd safety in dime packages, really.

Elam is a player who does not appear to be able to adjust to Zone defense and he has grabsy hands and does not get away with it like Sauce Gardner did first two years in league.

He couldn't play dime. The transitions weakness he has playing zone corner is exacerbated inside.

He barely plays even when one of those players are injured.

I don't think you're wrong that it would be tricky for him, but the fact that the coaches won't even let him really try is a bit odd to me.

He has a nose for the ball but seemingly isn’t a fit for our system

which continues to raise the question as to why the hell they drafted him in the first place?  Possibly panicked after KC sniped them.

Did he play well today? Remember at least one significant blown coverage

yep, the long bomb to Tyreek. Couple of weak tackling attempts, too.

He just played a whole game the first time one of those players were injured
