Agreed. I think the Dolphins made the right call. If they make the 2-pointer, then we are in 4-down mode for our whole last drive, giving us an even higher probability of getting at least a field goal. I think their best bet to win was either OT or a relatively quick stop (where we don't go for it on 4th down) and they get the ball back with a little time and a couple time outs and maybe they get the last second field goal.

 

They really played well. Tua only had 3 incompletions. I enjoy dumping on the Dolphins as much as the next Bills fan, but you have to hand it to them. They played a hell of a game on the road, and might well have won it if Poyer doesn't gift us that conversion. (Though the gift might be expensive if Keon is out for a while.)

Yea I can see why poyer went for the big hit too though…there’s a good chance that could’ve saved the game for them in an alternate universe.   that was an absolutely perfectly thrown ball

Like it or not, that's been the gameplan vs the Dolphins the entire McDaniel tenure. Honestly this was the first time i can remember he didn't go galaxy brain and force the pass

Fins ran at will against us with Achane and Mostert both averaging over 5 ypc.  Tua only threw 3 incompletes all game.  And they still lost.   It's gotta be frustrating for them.

I 100% go for 2 if I'm in the dolphins situation. If the fins had a winning record, then probably not. But this was a must win for the fins. You have the fastest most electric offense in the nfl, im sure you have a play. If you get it, you now have a serious chance at bringing out hero ball josh who is known to make mistakes especially if you blitz him and try to get him to force a bad throw down feild. And force a very shaky kicker that had almost 2 misses to make a game winner. Yes bass made 61 but that wasn't with the game on the line. But I do think that was a definite damned if you do, damned if you don't spot for McDaniels.

But we're the better team.  We were favored to win and we were at home.

 

Defense didn't play well at all.  They gave up way too much on the ground and got zero pressure on the QB all day.  Let's at least acknowledge that.  That's not going to get the job done against good teams.

Most fired up I've been after a Bills win this season. Big time stuff!

- Awful game from the refs. Feels like I could say this every week.
- Bills offense shot themselves in the foot throughout the game.
- Dolphins controlled both lines of scrimmage for much of the game.
- Excellent games from Tua and Achane/Mostert
- Another slow start from Buffalo

...AND YET...

Despite all of that, the Bills just found a way to win. That's what good teams do -- they find a way to win. Not your best day on offense? Not your best day on defense? Doesn't matter. Find a way to win a big divisional matchup at home. Now you're 7-2 and your division rivals are 2-6.

Have to think this huge win -- particularly with the way they won it -- will provide a big boost of confidence going forward. Likewise, have to think it will deflate and demoralize the Dolphins.

Lastly, how could I not mention Tyler Bass? THAT is how you bust a slump! THAT is how you get your confidence back and instill confidence in your teammates and Bills fans. Credit to the coaching staff for sticking with T Bass, credit to them for trusting him to attempt the kick, and credit to him for absolutely DRILLING it. It might have been good from 70!

Time to crack a beer and toast a resilient win and a resilient kicker.

I don’t really get it personally…assuming we’re starting 2nd and 14 after a sack down 1 we’d have an extra down to work with in picking up the first.  Even if they got the two pointer it’s probably making our life easier.
