Does anyone recommend anywhere without breaking the bank. Ideally near downtown but willing to drive a bit to save some cash. thanks! Courtyard Marriot in Niagara Falls near the Casino. Probably $150 less than what you’re looking at. 25 minute drive into Buffalo though

Sniff. sniff... 😢 You're making me weepy, reminiscing about the good ol' Moonlight Motel and the Caravan Motel on the Blvd 😃 Paying by the hour was a good bargain for good times on a high school & college budget LOL!!!

shane nelson
I have been staying downtown for years, it use to be sooooo cheap. However, post pandemic the rates are insane, it really makes no sense. I now stay at the airport. Half the price as downtown and the drive is about the same. Worse case, if dollars are the issue look at Niagara Falls NY
Behindenemylines
The Hilton Garden inn across from the airport was actually very good. I was there 2-3 nights a week for 9 months several years back. A quick ride to many places too for entertainment. downtown The Curtis but think it’s probably pricey at this point.
Jauronimo
Buffalo Hotels, they're not the nicest. Hampton Inn on Chippewa and Best Western Delaware are my go to's when visiting for games. They're both a quick walk from nightlife and places to eat but strongly recommend you rent a car to maximize your stay.

sullim4
Buffalo's hotels really aren't that bad. They are not luxury hotels by a long shot, but I've never had any issues finding a good place to stay. I've stayed at several different hotels and they've all been fine. My favorite areas are East Aurora (for convenience to the stadium, Bar Bill, etc), Williamsville, and the airport. I've stayed downtown a few times and that is also nice, but imo is too pricey for what you get when you factor in things like parking. Generally I prefer staying east of Orchard Park because it's much easier to get in/out of the smaller parking lots there, right onto 20A for an easy exit without dealing with the Thruway or the stadium lots. The Hampton in East Aurora is my favorite if I can book it on points. That is where we will be staying for the upcoming KC game. The only higher-tier hotel I would actively avoid in the area is the Hyatt Regency. I usually choose Hyatts as I find their loyalty program to be excellent, but the Buffalo property is a hard pass until renovations take place.

Ray Stonada
If you ever want to spend some money there's a bed and breakfast place off Elmwood, called InnBuffalo. Runs about 300/night, but it's in a really amazing old house, with a pool table and beer fridge in the basement. Looks like a private club in 1920 or something. Rooms are big with luxury details and flatscreens. And it comes with a fresh cooked breakfast, omelets, bacon, etc. And they have parking in back of their driveway. Haven't been since the pandemic but hopefully it's the same. I have nothing to do with them. But my wife and I used to stay there on trips back home, and she loved it. I brought my older uncle in from Tonawanda and we played pool and had some good beers. Good times.
Bill from NYC
On 11/1/2024 at 5:15 PM, Augie said: That’s my go-to spot, but I’m just realizing it’s pretty pricey and the Hampton Inn is full. I should book my reservations now for the opening two weeks next year then cancel the road weekend. I’ll spend more as long as I’m getting more. I have stayed at the Williamsville Hampton Inn many times and it is great. Walikng distance to restaurants and breweries and just down the road from the Eagle House, a GREAT restaurant. That's why I will stay in Niagara Falls for games. It only adds another 15 minutes travel time, and the prices in the falls are much lower, even for some pretty nice places.
