I didn't see this video posted yet, and I thought it maybe deserved its own thread because it's pretty impressive.

Bills home offense is scoring 38.3 PPG (1st in the league), which would be a Bills record. Josh also has the #1 ranked QBR and #1 ranked TD/TO ratio in the league at home this year.

Aside from their elite offensive production at home, Orlovsky talks about one of the things that has helped them find success this year: playing with a sixth o-lineman. The Bills have the most rushes with six offensive linemen in the league this year, and have produced the highest yards per rush and yards per play in the league out of this formation. As Orlovsky mentions, it's frankly kind of amazing that more teams don't do this more often, but credit to Brady for effectively utilizing it.

Thanks for this.

So, it means the Bills need to get it done on the road, too.

I'd like to see the number of times the Bills have gotten penalized when they've had six offensive linemen on the field. Seems like they've gotten a lot - false starts, uncovered tackles and covered eligible receivers.

Spencer Brown is second most penalized in the league among offensive linemen.  Dion Dawkins is 7th.

On the other hand, if you're scoring a lot of points, penalties don't seem to be a problem.

If we spank the Chiefs in a couple weeks, book our tickets to New Orleans.

I'd rather lose to them and then beat them in the playoffs...the reverse of what we have done the previous multiple years 😂

I prefer to beat them both times.

To that last point, I can't ever remember seeing a team overcome offensive penalties as easily and as repeatedly as the Bills did against Seattle last Sunday. It was drive killing penalty after drive killing penalty, only...they DIDN'T kill the drives. The offense just easily overcame them. Granted, that's not always the case.

I don't know how to verify this statistically, but I believe some of the league's best teams are often some of the most penalized. Or at the very least, that high penalty rates do not meaningfully correlate to teams being bad. Of course, that means diddly squat to Sean McDermott, who loathes penalties and sloppy play. Still...1st and 15 somehow seems less daunting when you have #17 under center.

It was unbelievable.

The OLine was seemingly trying to murder every drive in its infancy and Josh Allen was having none of it. And he did it patiently, rpeatedly turning 1st/20 or 2nd/15 into a manageable 3rd/6 then converting with no problem.

Not quite as mind-blowing as a couple years ago when he was regularly turning 3rd/14s into 50/50 propositions (nobody has ever seen anything like that before or since) but really impressive nonetheless. He's approaching that point again where I could not care less about 3rd downs. :worthy:

As for the 6th man up front, I'm liking that too. But I am not entirely convinced that Alec Anderson is their best option for that role.

Giving recent history Bills beating KC in the regular season means the opposite.

I think we had 4 on one possession on one of the 90 yard drives?  A hold on Dawkins, a hold on Brown, a hold on Alec Anderson and a false start on Brown.

I truly think this year’s Bills team in built differently though, while the Chiefs are somewhat of a paper tiger, just squeaking by teams to remain undefeated.  We barely lost to them in the playoffs last year with a depleted defense and incomplete offense.  We spank them in a couple weeks, it will confirm my belief that this teams ceiling is well above the current Chiefs team.

I was at the game, and I remember thinking something like that at the time. It felt like the Bills always had an answer.  "If we can't go here, we'll go there." The defense had that same feeling. "We'll play you tough, we'll play you tough, and if you can get to the ten, we're going to execute so well that you won't get the touchdown."  It felt like a team, not just a collection of stars.

Among the best teams, that's the feeling they're all trying to develop. Bills seem to have it. We'll see what happens on Sunday.

That's cool to see - I can't remember the last time a Bills team did something innovative that gave them a real advantage. Probably have to be the hurry-up of the 90's.

I followed the Seattle game for a bit on NFL Gamecenter, and I kept seeing plays where Alec Anderson reported as eligible. I remember thinking, "what the heck are they doing?", and now I know.

So, are you saying that there are coaches out there who don't mind penalties and sloppy play? This just seems like a low quality dig at McDermott. Of course he hates that. All coaches do. Fans do as well. Who doesn't hate penalties and sloppy play?

I also loathe penalties and sloppy play.  We'd be toast against the NFL elite teams if we committed as many penalties as we did in the Jets and Seahawks game.
