He was playing well for the Texans, he was an elite WR2 with Collins operating in the boundary it was allowing Diggs to operate all over the field and make good plays for them. Without Diggs they are missing some serious pop from their offense. The Texans also have 4 less WR's on the trade market so that's also going to be an issue for them. That being said the trade market is still open so they at least have the option to explore a move.

Houston will get a Diontae Johnson, Calvin Ridley, or Mike Williams.

I don't think they beat us without him.

Why does Trevon want to talk about CeeDee’s Nuts so much? I mean, I guess he’s probably seen them but still…

They had no pop without Collins...their offense has been mostly bad since he went down.

Well could be considered another good move by Beane kind of Belichek esk in a way, get rid of a player while he's still decent and can produce but their chances of having a injury to where you may not have their services due to a injury goes up because of their age .

I hate that he's hurt but i'm glad it's not hurting the Bills !!

I’m disgusted by Diggs as much as the next guy but career threatening injuries are not something to lump into roster decision mess ups. Diggs was a vital contributor for them and that injury is tragic. I hope he comes back strong. He’s good for the game.

It has nothing to do with rooting against him or any kind of ill will. It has everything to do with the ability to view roster moves with hindsight.

In the end they gave up a second round pick for an 8 game rental as they redid his contract so he can be a FA after this year. For the player it really is going to cost him huge as he may be reduced to some kind of "prove it" deal coming off the serious injury at his age. For the team, unless they get him re-signed, they payed a premium price for limited results. So in hindsight, it really ended up being a net negative for them.

Diggs was a chain mover for them though, and now they don't really have that.  Dell is somewhat of a slot only option due to his size, and woods is going to be limited on the boundary (he's 32, and was never a burner - still a solid option because he can block).

Right - so anyone they add now is just essentially adding more picks to that trade with the result being filling the spot opposite collins.

They are essentially a checkdown passing game, run the ball and play good D team right now.

It’s still second guessing a trade that was short circuited by serious injury when Diggs was healthy his whole career. Houston wanted a veteran star for this season to be a steadying influence on a young receiver room and 2nd year QB. According to his coaches and teammates he did that in a big way.Shortening the financial long term hit was beneficial to the team because they can retain him with a tag or an appropriate contract depending on his performance. Diggs can still have a positive affect even if he’s not playing. I think the benefit of signing a star receiver sends a message to your team that you’re all in which helps with FAs.

Dionate went to the Ravens, Not sure Ridley's contract is tradable he signed a 4 year massive deal. Mike Williams is on a much smaller deal. Only hang-up with Williams is that his deal has a lot of void years tacked onto it. He's got a 5.8 million dollar void year dead cap next year and then 3 smaller dead years of 800k afterwards. Not sure how void years work on a contract. But the Jets after the Devante trade have a glut at receiver and aren't using Williams anyway so if they can get a late round pick might as well take it.

Diggs gave us four very good years as our true #1, so I’m hopeful he’ll come back and maybe Dallas can pick him up at a reasonable rate.

Paid a first. Got 4 good years and ascended your qb. Did pay him. But also got a 2nd rd coming back at 30 years old. Injury is random / luck. But that’s a phenomenal piece of business looking at it from a dynasty/franchise macro look.
